I know of only three recent condo developments that have roof top common areas.
Viu, Bowery and... what's the third?

Eddy. Rhombus did. Soho Lisgar. The new hotel in the Byward Market.

I didn't know Bowery had a rooftop communal space.

Word from someone who lives in SOHO Lisgar- the roof top area isn't accessible. Something about it being reserved for the corp. or something, and yes, he was pissed.

Darnit... I was speaking to someone who lives there and he said it was and that he'd take me up to take some rooftop photos...

I'm sure it's due to the fact that they can get more money by selling rooftop space to the penthouse owners, rather than allow it to be used as communal space...

Didn't know about Eddy.

Saw the Bowery roof top pool and amenity space in the free Homes and Condos monthly magazine. Can't find a picture, but I did find a Citizen article showing Petrie's Landing 2 will have a roof top patio.

The Continental which was recently built by Charlesfort in Westboro, has an excellent rooftop!

My colleague was all excited when he learned he could get a 2-bedroom, 2 bath in this project for $329K until he realized it is only 725 sq.ft. He is planning to raise a family (at least 1 kid) so he will consider other options.

The Hillcrest suite that is advertised is a joke. They apparently haven't sold a single one. I have to say when I was looking for a condo this was one of the few buildings that didn't have a SINGLE floor plan that was even remotely intriguing. All of them have weird sized rooms, strange layouts and questionable uses of space.

Yes my colleague has been renting in Westboro for the past 5 years and he would like to remain in the area but he's having a hard time finding something that is within his budget. I have not seen the layouts for UpperWest so I can't comment but it looks like he may have to cast a wider net...

What's the layout like? That matters more than square footage IMO, but 2-bedroom 2-bath at 725sqft sounds impossible enough that the layout is probably atrocious.

He may have to move out of Westboro. If it's inner city living he values there's options in less expensive areas like Sandy Hill or Centretown West.

Also this unit faces the west, meaning anything under floor ~12 will be obstructed by CIHI building.
