Looks like about R60 of rigid insulation in the roof - that turns me on.

^It's such a peculiar neighbourhood that area bounded by Bay, Cannon, James and York. Any change, any addition is a good thing...

That's a block from me and I'm glad they're getting rid of another eyesore empty lot on that block. Couldn't care less what they preach as long as it looks good!

Restoration House opens new $3-million home downtown Hamilton
(Hamilton Spectator, Natalie Paddon, June 12 2016)

More than five years of work to build a new multimillion-dollar home for Restoration House church was celebrated with song, dance and worship Sunday morning.

The grand opening of the almost $3-million building housing the branch of the Redeemed Christian Church of God was held at its new 103 MacNab St. N. location.

Finishing touches on the church took place over the weekend after they received their occupancy permit on Wednesday, said senior pastor Olayinka Dada.

The 200 parishioners started looking for a new space about eight years ago after the church started to outgrow its old location on Vine Street where it had been since 2004, Dada said.

There, newcomers were showing up and leaving as soon as they saw the packed room.

"We're expanding, we're growing," he said. "That place was too small."

Dada expects the Restoration House Hamilton congregation could expand to 500 members in its new location, which includes an overflow room upstairs.

Instead of pews, there are chairs for congregation members to sit in. But most don't sit for long as they stand up to dance and clap along with the music.

The building's budget came mostly from donations from congregation members as well as through a bank loan, Dada said.

Ground broke for the new building in summer 2014, after work got delayed while trying to sort out official plans with the city.

Saw this place in person the other week and it looks really good. Shows you the potential this area has. Not sure most of the property owners have that inclination, however.
