SkyWay: 27 years of Greater Vancouver Transit

Sure we have new and old videos of the SkyTrain but have we ever put them together and in sync? My goodness how things have changed.

-Produced by me!

It was almost ready about a year ago but.....

I have to say the tree growth is also pretty amusing. In some areas all the trees have been removed, in others you can barely see past the guideway.

Skytrain video

Hi there.

I am a digital producer with a local TV station.

I was wondering if you could email us at tips@globaltvbc.com or call us at 604-422-6736 to talk about the video.

Thank you.

Bravo! - Thank you for taking your time to do this.

*Maybe Translink should stick a panorama camera on one of the cars and go down the line, then licence it to google and 25 years from now someone like you can do another video, but in panoramic mode.

Looks like the Sun put it in their own video player even though it still has the youtube watermark. Hope the OP still gets the views.

I was threatened with a lawsuit by the Canadian Press for using two images back in the late 90s on a web site (non-profit) so it's funny to see the former pros writing "articles" like this now. (I removed the images and told them to stuff their lawsuit and they never pursued charges, for the record)

I am completely AMAZED how much media attention that caught.
It feels so rewarding to see all your dedication pay off like that.
At this point it doesn't really matter how many views I miss. I'm just proud of my work.

That's actually just Ooyala's framing of the YouTube video that was originally uploaded. I believe that it's still being pulled from YouTube so the precious number of views should be accurate.

If it gets popular enough you get paid so it's not totally trivial.
