does anyone know what's going on with the pub? in this picture it's in the centre. They seem to be renovating it or slowly demolishing it I can't tell. Seems like a prime redevelopment spot so doing renos seems like a waste no?

The address is 541 Clarke Road in Coquitlam. I think Safeway currently owns the site, but I'm not sure. I found mention of this workshop taking place there over the summer: https://www.minutemanpress.ca/news/c...its-23149.html

It's got plywood over the windows, which is kind of strange for renovations.

Yea, they have a porta potty outside and a dumpster bin and I've seen workers in and about it at times. The one next door I forget what it used to be, I wanna say it was a liquor store for the pub, now its a fairly busy Korean restaurant. It's quite neat seeing how much the area is changing so rapidly.

Safeway only bought the pub's liquor license, the liquor store/pub had a different landlord

behind where that pub used to be at 705 North Road are these. They have the same address but are two different things?

At its meeting Tuesday, city council approved bylaw and zoning amendments to allow construction of a six-storey rental apartment building at 3370 Dewdney Trunk Rd. It will include 229 units, five of which will be made available at below-market rents.

A contentious project providing housing for women and children got a tentative go-ahead from Port Coquitlam council Tuesday clearing the way for tenants to move in as early as the summer of 2020.

The Atira Women's Resource Society is "ecstatic" its proposal to build rental housing for women, children and families, a medical clinic, and a childcare facility received unanimous approval on third reading from council following a public hearing.
