Looks like a ramp down into the hole for trucks, etc.

^That's usually the case, although with this one going down so far, they are probably going to have to lift material out instead of trucking it. Should be a very interesting process for Regina.

Yeah, exactly. If they're going down 5 stories, there's not enough space for a ramp.

If I'm not mistaken it's the deepest basement in either Manitoba or Saskatchewan.

So I expect delays since it's uncharted territory.

^Agreed on potential delays. If anything this is a good case study for deeper digs within the city and all the more reason I want to see this succeed. It is setting the bar for so much in Regina.

I'll wager they do something similar to this story from Calgary. Use a crane with some form of bucket on the end.

This will be very interesting. Ag Place ,with 3 levels underground, used a back hoe with an extended boom to reach down to take out the earth ramp.

Seems like progress slowed down over the last week or so. Only noticeable change seems to be a new ramp into the site.

Anyone know if they are waiting on something or just how these projects are.

Today they removed two semi loads of wood from the east side of the site (right side of the site on the webcam) and a semi load of pipes.

Ill believe that when I see it. They've made no progress towards the bottom in over two weeks. I highly doubt they have a burst of speed that results in the hole being complete in just over ten weeks.

I don't see how they will hit bottom with out actually excavating the middle of the site.

They need to get that drill out of there.

I kind of thought they meant they would hit financial bottom by July? No way they will see the bottom of a 5 storey pit by July.

I wonder if this 5 storey thing is all BS. Maybe they mean 5 level parkade, which could be only 2.5 stories. You know the parkades that only go down a half storey for each level. I have a hard time believing they'll get that hole done is 2 months.

Maybe each level is only 4 feet high, so only convertibles can use the parking garage and you need to crouch when you walk in and out.

It is definitely 5 full floors. Remember they have 26 floors of condos plus a 12 story hotel. They need a lot of parking and there is zero surface parking. I think the City posted the parking level plans as part of the zoning approval.

OK, I went back and looked a the Dec. 4, 2013 Planning Commission minutes. http://www.regina.ca/residents/counc...lendar-agenda/

This shows only 4 levels of U/G parking but the first level is stacked, valet parking with 14 foot ceilings for the hotel guests. This level alone holds 96 cars.

Other facts: 231 stalls, 3 outdoor; 126 condo units; 130 hotel rooms; height is 82.8m - not including the spire.
