all those things with the internet are not so important for me. i hope they make a rush hour version after the game comes out. this thing with the streets who connect the streets is not very good also that with the zoning. we should just wait and hope.

This seems to be a new trend, gaming companies are focusing more and more on online play. It sucks.

I can confirm that there are subways. The rest of the issues that blog points out? True. But there are subways!

They are getting closer, the more things I see the more I like it...they seem to be responding well to SC community criticism

My main issue at this point is scale. I like a lot of what I see in that gameplay video, but it seems like you're creating medium sized towns, not true cities.

I may hang onto Sim City 4 a little longer. Once released, I would like to see the ratings before I buy 5.

I still feel like there are alot of issues. The buildings need more detailed textures and better proportions. Im also not happy with the way regions are strutured. Each city has a huge gap with pre-made roads and train tracks making it impossible to form a realistic urban fabric and metro area. Oh and there is no terraforming, BIG MISTAKE.

Edit: I totally agree with these youtube comments:

Ugh, so the playable zones are separated, not bordering each other. That makes NO sense if I want to build a metropolis, since each city in my future "metropolis" would be separated by a lot forest. -_____-

This worries me. This isn't a city. Great new dynamics with power, police, upgrades etc. But I don't want to micro manage individual buildings or worry about "casino profit and loss". That's not city building, this is neighbourhood management

I like the idea of having more control over day to day business, but I'm unsure about how I feel about the lack of any ability to build the urban fabric that The North One mentioned above.

Considering the flop that Societies was (in my opinion), I'm probs gonna wait on buying this one till I can see how risk takers feel about it.

I am a bit excited about this game, but at the same time I am cautious of it after Societies, which I never bought. I will probably wait till this summer before buying it just to see what the feedback on the game is.

I personally do like the micro managing in the sense that with Simcity4 I always find myself getting bored with a city when I build up my downtown and it feels like a stagnant area that doesn't do anything. I want to have a city that has monthly functions that need to be attended to. Plus I will say I do like the idea of having some form of market that dictates the cost of everything much like we have in the real world. For that aspect I hope this game works.

I did have an issue with the choice of rail, but as much as I love to add subway systems to my city, I do understand their desire to make this a very visible game and the only way to make subways work the way this game works would be to have a fully interactive underground level where one can place station entrances and the shape and size of the stations as well as fully designing the structure of the subway rails, which might of been a bit too complicated for such a game to be designed. But I will say, I have liked what I have seen with the light rail systems so far.

I completely agree; I like the ideas they've come up with, yet I don't like the lack of inter connectivity that the game seems to contain.

Honestly, I understand that you can't put everything in a game with the technology that is currently available, but it just seems like there should be a nice middle ground.
