At least there have been uglier proposals. Like the American Commerce Center. That is definitely the ugliest building ever proposed in the history of man. Thank god it died on the vine.

Has the building open yet? I heard there's job openings for the building.

This building is really ugly in some peoples' eyes? Hmmm...I don't think it's ugly or beautiful. Maybe a little on the boring side and not particularly memorable outside of its height. With that said, it adds something to the Philly skyline and I think it looks fine.

I don't like the north or south view. The bulkiness and the lantern just throw me off. Most every other angle (especially coming west on the train) it's pretty awesome.

What in the world is the rush? There a ton of work still to be done, the hotel won't be open until 2019. I feel like we often spend years talking about these Projects and then as soon as they are completed the threads are closed so swiftly there is not even enough time for people to discuss the end result.

Not even the exterior is entirely complete including import features such as all the lighting in the spire.

Cool your jets.

^Yup.
Hotel isn't completed, hotel entrance/lobby is still a construction zone. Arch St. side ground floor is still construction zone.

Regarding the spire lights, one of my sources said, "I do know for sure that the top four floors are running on temporary power, which has to be switched over. There’s no need for the spire to be lit currently, so I’m sure Roberts doesn’t want to waste the money to have it running on temp power."

AMEN, the construction also continues along Arch St. We've got months to go before this guy can be called 'done'.

Does anyone know if the north facing panels at various points that are odd/different are what they are (whatever that is) or can we expect them to some day match the rest of the building?

I heard that this building will be deconstructed due to an individual that posted that it was "ugly".

I hope you’re happy with yourself.

Personally, I love this building.

Lots of embarrassing, out of touch things on this, but the worst is probably the prominent placement of Motown, which despite bIIm connotations is still ultimately the nickname for another city, right in the middle of this mess.

Unbelievable. There is already graffiti inside the building? What the hell is going on in Philadelphia? I remember we used to take the trolley into town with my mother and we would get off at the Reading Terminal. Then walk over to Wanamaker's to get a soft drink on the 5th floor at the soda fountain. Everything was so beautiful, immaculate. That's when downtown was downtown. And now look at it.

60 floors, how much sq footage, and we're gonna complain about one wall on some random floor?

Eh... ok

Imagine a building in Detroit having a “City of Brotherly Love” tag prominently displayed. I suppose this is what happens when giant corporations try to embrace street art...I’m sure this touch of “authenticity” will really boost recruitment for them
