It looks to me like the core has surpassed Suncor Energy West tower (not seen in this photo).

I'm a huge fan admirer of BIG's work, Telus Sky is fantastic!

Awesome building and pics! I've been watching Calgary grow since the 70's; always amazed by what was coming next.

But is there a height limit downtown? I know there's a shadow throw zone for river safety or something, and the rail-yards DT still screw up development, like in Saskatoon, but why would builders, architects and companies just want to be in the company of PetroCan/Suncor, when they could reach for the peaks?

I don't understand a five or ten metre pissing contest when even this iconic building, Telus, would have no problem, like Stantec in Edmonton, adding 50 meters and really "sticking out" in a good way. People are buying condos, and wouldn't they buy more so, on top of the world? I think it's a missed opportunity.

Nevertheless, we'll be able to enjoy it from some angles, several of which are brilliantly shown here! Cheers!

Yes just the shadow on the river valley for height restrictions. When it comes to building heights being so close has more to do with elevator space vs height of building vs efficiencies of moving people up and down.

Here are a few older photos I took and had no time to post and a few night time shots from last night.

Two best skyscrapers in Canada in that last shot, no doubt in my mind right there. Calgary has killed it

I don't know about the Bow, but Telus Sky is killing it. I wouldn't argue the assertion it's Canada's best. The Bow is pretty cool, but I find it too wide.

This is one of Ingalls' better towers, IMO. Up there with the Pyramid in NY.

This tower is topped out and is close to finishing. Here's a recent pic showing the amazing lighting

More recent pics and more about the lighting display for those interested.
