I've got the Bay Bloor Blahs

Maybe needs some balcony railings?

edit: quickly sketched in some balconies. They'd probably be black perforated aluminum in reality.

This building took me about an hour to sketch out.

Reminds me a bit of the Eaton's proposal that would have seen Old City Hall torn down.

Hmm maybe I'll do a remix of that fantasy tower!

Northwest corner Bay and Bloor needs a tower too, right?

But it can be saved: colourful spandrel panels coming to the east and west elevations next

I like it. It might look better if the boxes were all white though.

Maybe. But I was inspired by the colourful display boxes seen in fashion boutiques on the mink mile. Bloor needs colour!

Here's another simple Bay Bloor area concept that answers my question: What would I do if I were Brad Lamb and had aA along for the ride?

Slightly revised and moved to the southeast corner of Bay and Yorkville, across from the new Four Seasons hotel. Residences above an office podium.

Bay + Yorkville by nimbytect: eight storeys of replacement office space above several CRUs at grade with 46 storeys of luxury residential (~176 units) and a rooftop pool/amenity space at Bay Street and Yorkville Avenue, inspired by the Lamb Dev Corp aA aesthetic: chic minimalism in matte black.

Taking a break from Bay & Bloor, this week I'm thinking about the Dominion Building site at Yonge and Front. I think the best place for a tower would be here:

The challenge: Can I turn this sort of thing

restrained by Toronto's 8000 sq ft floor plate point tower obsession/requirements

into something worthy of the location?

concept 1FW isn't worthy in neither precast

nor black metal cladding

but it is 60 storeys tall.
edit: I hate misaligned windows--I'm a perfectionist.

This morning I was looking at a cheesy G+C proposal for Humber Bay Shores and wondered, what would I design if I worked for them? Maybe the #hashtag balcony tower--a world first?

From #cheeky to #serious I just finished another more sombre 8000 sq ft floor plate tower:

Put it somewhere on the east side of Yonge.

To be fair to #hashtag balcony tower, I added balconies to this tower and found a location: Church on Bloor - the parking lot at the southwest corner Church Street and Bloor Street East Toronto.

Needs a podium + mechPH.
