Eek! When you're swearing out warrants remember that I voted against the damn thing.

The Village committee approved it 8-4.

Drew Bryck made a motion to approve Z-18-19-4 as recommended by staff and additional stipulations that capture the spirit and intent of the six additional stipulations presented by the applicant as modified by staff.

G.G. George seconded the motion.

Yes – Jake Adams, Drew Bryck, Katie Coates, G.G. George, Matthew Jewett, Rick Mahrle, Jayson Matthews and Steve Procaccini.

No – Ann Cothron, Paul Benjamin, Nicole Rodriguez and Aaron Searles

That’s ok - they’ll never build it anyhow...

2nd Ave and Fillmore

Can someone remind me what’s going on the massive lot that’s being cleared on 2nd Ave and Fillmore, just south of Aspire and west of the ASU dorms?

anything over five stories usually means reinforced concrete construction but i wonder if they are going to do two levels of concrete and then five wood frame.

I was wondering what was holding up One camelback since I have not seen any movement on it for so long. They apparently changed up the design and it is not the same as the original that we have seen. Here is the newest rendering I've found.

Sigh

I passed by there recently with someone who though it was a new parking garage. With the floors empty, it sort of looks like that. I hope they get moving on the new design soon.

I think they are doing some work now, it’s all lit up at night now.

Removed all the balconies...probably realized they couldn't work those in structurally. w/o some cost overruns...

Sigh

That’s not significantly different from the first renderings

It's significantly different. The proposed design was a Jetsons/mid-century look with inward balconies similar to One Lexington. I have the rendering at work and will post it when I get in this morning

Here's the original renderings. You are correct that it appears there are no balconies. I swear when this was first announced, the article stated inward balconies would be included. Either way, the design was very different. I prefer the old one much more.

Also, the newer renderings are on the architects website, so you can get a better look: http://erwinarchitecture.com/

I prefer those exposed slabs they do give a cool vibe but maybe once they were finished with demo they realized it wasnt going to work structurally

Since we're on this project, does this building have underground parking? I don't know much about it. It appears that no additional parking will be added unless they plan to build a garage on the adjacent lot behind it, but I have not read anything on it. Could this be another low-parking ratio residential development?

It has underground parking. I don't know how much, but I would guess that there would be fewer residents per square foot than office workers, so it's probably enough to satisfy any city requirements or investor expectations.

Ah yes, true. I didn't think about the office worker to resident offset. It would probably be too many parking spots then.

The stop lights at Central and Camelback look nothing like that.
