Here are my guesses...

Where is this?

GA Aquarium along Ivan Allen Blvd

Name the two buildings in this picture:

Equitable Building and Candler Building in the reflection

What street is this building on?

Ponce de Leon

What is THIS?

Barriers outside the Five Points MARTA station

What purpose does this building serve?

Student Housing (University Lofts) at Georgia State University

Where do the stairs lead? ('up' is not the correct answer))

They lead up to the cauldron for the 1996 Olympics (now located on Capitol Ave & Fulton Street)

Where is this development?

Atlantic Station (Art Foundry)

and FYI, I'm just being a lazy SOB today, hence the low number

Ok, I'll take a gander at a few:

4. The Ponce
12. Georgian Terrace Hotel, Gone with the Wind Premier
19. Don't remember what exact building it is, but I think it is a building at Emory University on Clifton Road....School of Public Health?
42. The Biltmore
44. AT&T Building....Promenade II?
47. Georgia Power building?
48. Gold Dome above the state capital

And a couple I'm not as sure about:
40. Oglethorpe University?
5. Peachtree Summit and Twelve Centennial Park?
2. Spring Street?

Wicked fun, btw!

Wow...great photography! You really show an inspired side of Atlanta architecture that we rarely see. And you've certainly managed to take the only good picture of the Aquarium I've ever seen!

The only ones I recognize (that others haven't already):

19. Rollins School of Nursing
21. Candler Park

I'll be thrilled to find out about the rest--some of these I gotta see in person!

These are fantastic (four 0 four), and I agree with Terminus - you do make the joint look classy!

Surprisingly, I know almost all of these. Don't have time right now to list them all, but I'm guessing the bonus is Philips Arena?

I'm very eager for all the answers to be revealed. I can recognize perhaps 20 to 25 of the 50, and I've lived in Atlanta for most of my 44 years. It's a great set of photos...I wish I had more time to peruse each one carefully but too rushed with work right now!

Terminus, I did not know, although I assumed his home was near the Candler mansion (which is the grand house at the corner of Elizabeth and Euclid).

However, some quick googling yields this:

"Many prominent Atlantans lived in Inman Park, including Coca-Cola founder Asa Candler, whose Callan Castle stands at the corner of Euclid Avenue and Elizabeth Street, and Hurt himself, who lived at 167 Elizabeth Street."

http://www.hardenrealestate.com/info/atlanta_inman.html

So maybe Hurt lived just down the street rather than at the actual corner.

ETA: Actually, I see that it's on the opposite corner, so you are right!

This is a great idea, four 0 four! So far, I've gotten 11 correct. Not bad for someone who lives 150 miles west of Atlanta.

OK, here are my other guesses:

3. a library
8. old Federal Reserve building on Marietta St. (not sure what it is now)
12. where the cast of Gone With The Wind stayed during the movie's premiere
16. Roof of the Hyatt Regency
23. Candler Bldg.
27. 1929 (Fox Theatre)
41. The Healey
