Here's a beautiful art deco building, but gets virtually no attention.

A vastly unknown skyscraper... does any non-Montrealer know where it is?

March 24, 2010 (I was going somewhere and thought this angle was interesting)

I'd wager that most Montrealers don't even know this building even exists. I didn't know of it until 3 years ago.

It's The Tower on Édouard-Montpetit.

...of course it looks more special from this angle.

^ Its a University of Montreal residence. Built in 1965.

here's a link http://imtl.org/edifices/Residence-U...e-Montreal.php

I actually like it. For a concrete slab, its holds some measure of dignity.

Here are two of my favourite buildings in Hamilton
Pigott Building (Hamilton's first skyscraper).

Landmark Place (Just because it's our tallest building at 43 floors).

I've driven on Montpetit before but don't remember seeing it. You can't see that building from anywhere to be honest.

Landmark Place is probably the ugliest tallest in Canada. So ugly I don't think I've ever taken a photo of it specifically.
Behold!

Yeah, but it's not the tallest in London. And at least there was some intent in the design, an imposing brutalist obelisk of justice (or something).

I don't want the tower to be redone in glass, it's a crying shame, it has loads of personality as is.

ugliest in

Worst Building in Canada is in Winnipeh and it is called "Drury Manor" Here is is!

Here is another gem:

"Summerland" in Winnipeg. It has tonnes of cockroaches and the atrium smells like 100 different kinds of food. I am not afraid of different kinds of food but all mashed together in a big humid arium can be pretty gross. They market this place as a seniors retirement centre. I would NEVER want my mom to retire in that slum.....
