I, on the other hand, am more and more impressed by the skyline as time goes. Seems La Défense is improving quite alot. However - is this wave of changes reflected at street level? Is it still a modernist office park and if o are ther any plans to change that?

Like any site, it will create inconvenience for residents and neighboring users. We are all aware. AVIVA, HINES France and our school work together, consultation with the prime contractor for the project and companies in the context of our joint development sustainable limit, as far as possible, the inconvenience could occur.

Majunga Tower and four other projects will emerge Defense

The Board of Directors of the EPAD, which revises the business district of La Defense, on Tuesday approved four promises of sale and a deed on projects of construction or reconstruction towers.

If all these projects were successful, they represent about 340,000 m2 of offices, including some 280,000 m2 new.
The spokesman of the EPAD confirmed to AFP that its board of directors composed of elected officials and representatives of ministries, had approved "five operations.
Among these is the construction of a new tower, Majunga (205 m high, 69,500 m2 of offices) for which the EPAD has approved the signing of an agreement to sell rights to build with the investor Unibail-Rodamco , indicated sources familiar with the matter.

Promises to sell building rights have also been permitted for three of demolition and reconstruction of existing towers: Tower Air 2 (220 m, 82,000 m2) instead of the Aurora tower (34,000 m2), Tower D2 ( 180 m, 54,000 m2), which will replace the Veritas building (10,600 m2) and the Generali Tower (91,200 m2).
Investors turn to Carlyle Air 2, Sogecap (Societe Generale) for D2 and Generali tower for the tower of the same name.
The final contract of sale for the tour Carpe Diem (166 m, 47,000 m2), an operation of demolishing and rebuilding on the France Telecom building (7,000 m2) that investors are Aviva and Predica (Credit Agricole).
Located mainly on the communes of Courbevoie and Puteaux, Hauts-de-Seine, the business district of La Defense is three million m2 of offices and houses 2,500 companies, 1,200 offices, where approximately 150,000 employees and where 20,000 inhabitants reside.
In July 2006, the state had told the EPAD, while Nicolas Sarkozy held his presidency and that of the general council of Hauts-de-Seine, the mission of carrying out a plan for renewal of Defense. This plan included the construction of 300,000 m2 of new offices, reconstruction operations for at least 150,000 m2 and 100,000 m2 of additional homes by 2015.

Wow! The cladding looks very unique. But I suppose that fits the uniqueness of the tower. I've never seen a cladding test go up before construction starts though?!

J'aime bien l'idée des habitations amicable à l'énvironnement près de la Défense. A mon avis, c'est trop comme les QCCs* américains comme il est maintenant... if you can understand what I'm trying to say.
--------
*quartier central commercial--that's how you would translate "Central Business District" into French, right?
