Really cool tower.

But if small Oklahoma city can put up a solid 850 footer other American cities should be putting up much taller buildings.

I have seen three good news sources reporting a new skyscraper is proposed in Oklahoma City. There aren't many details and no official announcement was made yet. According to the sources, it won't be as tall as this tower, but could have a good impact on the skyline. If any forum members from this city find more information, please share it! I would love to see something around 675 feet tall / 205.8 metres proposed. This is a great city to follow construction in. The forum members in this city post videos and excellent photographs. I love the construction videos!

These kinds of shots are what need to replace the dated photos you see everywhere of our city. From the talented Cooper Ross.

I know it's been said on here a lot, but the glazing on this baby is nearly identical to the EAP tower here in Calgary. Very dynamic glass, noticeably different depending on time of day and lighting conditions. Devon > EAP though, no question.

Hopefully you guys get a couple more taller towers so Devon doesn't dominate so completely.

Article from yesterday, 40ish story tower nearing announcement:

Quote:
Mark Beffort, a major player in the downtown real estate game, got everyone talking this past week when he declared that, yes, there will be another office building built downtown as part of a yet unidentified company moving its headquarters to downtown Oklahoma City.

Beffort, who represents the owners of Leadership Square, City Place, Corporate and Oklahoma towers, didn't go any further with this tease. But it's enough for me to share what I've heard from several sources; this tower is no low-rise. If the project proceeds as planned, this tower will be 40 stories tall.

Nice looking tower. Hopefully we get something like it in Phoenix someday (probably not though).

This tower is sexy. Hopefully it will get some company in the skyline soon.

THAT'S what everyone has been clamoring for, a sort of counter-balance to Devon. And 40 stories would nicely split the difference between Devon and Chase. Then we won't have to hear anymore whining about how Devon sticks out like a sore thumb.

i'll just be happy with something over 500 ft... maybe the City Scape apartment tower.
i'm gonna miss seeing the Devon tower from the Crosstown driving through downtown once the westbound lanes open

Lackmeyer is a sunshine pusher and everything he says should be taken with a grain of salt. If you listen to him OKC will be adding 8-10 300+ foot towers in the next 5 years and attracting a fortune 100 company or two along the way. He seems to not really grasp reality and run with any rumor he hears. Maybe there will be a new 'tower' built, but I assure you it wont be in the 700 foot range.

Yeah, I wrote Lackmeyer off, several years ago, when he was yammering about a 37-stpry building some energy company wanted to build in Okie Holler.

R-i-g-h-t.

Um, everybody knew Devon was going to build a tower a few years ago it was just a matter of what size. Obviously he was off on the size which really makes you question how he could be correct about any other building going up.

So, what you're saying is that, at least on Devon, Lackmeyer wasn't pumping enough sunshine at the time.

Gotcha.
