Update 10/19.

Legacy @ Town Lake crane is up! The building on the left is the 257 foot "The Shore", another new condo building still under construction.

this is going to have a big impact on I-35 going north as you go down that curve and across the river.

Yep. It'll change the shape of the skyline pretty well. Not only is it farther east than most of our highrises, but farther south also. There are other buildings in the area folks, so it's not the only one around there, but it'll be taller than anything around there by a good 75 to 90 feet. In fact, it'll be the farthest south 300 footer in Austin, though still north of the river, technically it's farther south than some areas which are south of the river since it snakes southward a bit there. It's about 5 blocks farther south than our current three southernmost 300 footers.

Right about here? (I took these yesterday afternoon)

Here's another photo of the Legacy crane and some surrounding developments taken from the 5th floor of the Holiday Inn's parking garage.

Photos from 1/8/08

A few shots from I-35 on Sunday of Legacy @ Town Lake. The 257 foot, 22 floor "The Shore" can be seen to the right.

I had the white balance set wrong, so they came out a bit dark.

You can see the silhouette through the trees.

This building is rising at a very fast rate. I would say a floor a week? maybe even a Floor and a half a week. It is already breaking above the tree canopy and you can definatly see it from I-35 from the south as well as from the north.

Yeah, the view of this thing coming up from the south just as you cross the river is going to be amazing. It'll end up being one of the most recognizable buildings on the skyline from that side and it's fairly close to the water (from that angle).

The speed of this construction is really impressive. Already up to the 8th floor, and starting to install studs for the lower levels.

Nice pictures. It really is crazy how fast thing is shooting up. It may end up being topped out by early in the summer.

Photos from 2/8/2008. Looks like they're already up to the 13th-14th floors.

I can't believe how fast this building has been built. Thanks for the updates priller.

Photos from 2/24.

Up to the 17th floor as of last Sunday. This thing is going up so quick though they've probably gotten another floor finished by now. Amazing, it was still a hole in the ground in October, now 4 months later it's halfway topped out.

Strange how you can't see the Shore at all from that angle. Nevertheless, still one of the best views of downtown.

Can't wait to see the Four Seasons from there.

Photos (from a distance) from April 3

If I counted correctly, they're up to the 25th floor. At this rate they should top out before the end of May.
