"Global management-consulting giant McKinsey & Co. is moving its Manhattan headquarters from 55 E. 52d St. to Three World Trade Center, The Post has learned.

The prestigious firm told its staff of the planned move last week. It represents another advance for the thriving Downtown office market, which now boasts a healthy mix of media, creative and traditional financial firms. It’s another loss for East Midtown, where the effects of recent rezoning to allow large new modern buildings to rise might not be felt for years."

Feels good to beat the media to the punch by half a day.. I had posted this info in the AM yesterday..

3 WTC beats out the Hudson Yards, 1 Vanderbilt, and others to land a big firm!

I got this info from people in the know.. 3 WTC to land another big name lease. Taking one of the cities biggest most prestigious consulting firms from Midtown East, where it's been forever.

Hearing it's a done deal...McKinsey & Co to sign at 3 WTC!

One of those shots that will make you stare at all the different colors, designs, beauty, o... and 3 WTC.

And amidst your trance, you see 5 Beekman, and convulsions kick in.

Fun fact about McKinsey & Co. moving into 3WTC for those who may not know: my understanding is that in the 60s, when the original complex was still in the planning stages, the Port Authority hired McKinsey to do a study on the viability of the whole concept of a World Trade Center. Their report found that there was basically no demand for a such a facility among the international shipping companies the PA envisioned as tenants, but the study was hushed up by Nelson Rockefeller who was Governor of NY at the time and was very much in favor of the project (mainly because of his family’s real estate interests in the area—One Chase Manhattan Plaza, etc.)

Now, here we are a few decades later and McKinsey is moving into the very same complex they said would never be successful

I hope Cortlandt Way manages to open along with the tower. Before the snow hit, I saw them hard at work on it.

From looking at these photos I'm starting to warm up to the more simplified design as it doesn't 'steal the show' from 1 WTC. The added cross bracing and spires, while nice features, would've made this tower pop more rather than blend into the fabric of the skyline.

I don't know why it's taking so long to finish the eastern facade, but the rest is looking good.

Great shots.

This tower looks fantastic, and the transit hub is amazing.
