Why not a Fuhr jersey?

"But heck, even a 2nd round pick is worth never seeing a Smytty Flames jersey as far as I'm concerned."

I just read that the Oilers are still in the mix, but the Flames have allegedly offered 2 draft picks for Smyth.

It sounds like the Oilers are trying to screw over the Flames now. Ha ha

This is what's known as the "Pittsburgh-Chicago" stratagem.

Of course, the difference here is that Edmonton will actually keep making enough money that the threat of relocation due to years of shittiness is not an issue.

I'm not sure denying us the opportunity to trade away already non-existent prospects for a 1 year rental player at $6.5 million would be screwing over the Flames.

Probably saving them from their own stupidity.

Sounds like Smitty is indeed pulling a Heatly here. He's refused to waive his no-trade to go to Calgary.

Man, that guy is never well liked in an opponent's building. He'll be VILIFIED here if true.

I don't want Smyth here, he doesn't really have much to offer unless we can offload Hagman somehow.

Smyth to Oilers for Brule and a draft pick. Even if Tambelini denies it

Oh, and Hopkins was #1.

The luck of the Devils to win the lottery and draft Larsson 4th overall. Sheesh.

Jets draft Scheifele!
Good two way centre.

Good choice by both Philly and Boston with Couturier and Hamilton

Philly and Boston both got a steal of a deal. The Bruins prospect lineup is now a bit ridiculous.

New Jersey is a big winner so far with Larsson, though!

Boo. Flames were so close to getting someone actually good.

Murphy would have been a fine only prospect in the entire organization.

You can cut the electricity with a knife. You gotta be a hardcore hockey fan to know much about these guys. I'm just waiting and hoping Gillis has made a deal to get a good winger for Kesler. I believe Kesler deserves first line status. At least 1a anyways.

I like the Sedins and what they bring, but absolutely no emotion after the loss. Meanwhile Kesler's almost crying and Burrows was too emotional to talk. That's who I want leading my team.

I agree Henrik makes a pitiful captain, though.

Strangely, if Henrik had bitten off somebodies finger or ear or whatever, I would feel better about him.

^^ Kesler and Burrows aren't that classy enough to be captain.
Kesler hates losing and imagine him towards the media after a lost. plus too much baggage towards other nhl players.

H.Sedin is the safe conservative choice for captain, doesn't seem to be bothered by the media at all.
____

I liked Montreal choice of Beaulieu, great +/- stats, french name but doesnt speak the language well...
