I loved all the crowds downtown all day! I love seeing the Olympic Torch from my desk at work! I hope we get a wave of immigrants like after Expo 86!

Those moments of pride that we all felt at one point.

Knowing how Vancouverites can be at times quite reserved. I was always afraid of how we would react to being front and centre. To actually come out as one of the loudest and most enthusiastic cities to have hosted the Winter Olympics.

While there were glitches and problems and a tragedies. At no point did we ever let it get us down. We simply had fun.

For me, it was all the TV coverage the Olympics, and the city of Vancouver, got on television and in the press. We're on the map now, Big Time.

given that you live in Paris, what has the perception of Vancouver been over there from the locals?

This has been the biggest "overall" plus for me. I've been very proud how we have supported the games and welcomed the world. We should all be very, very proud.

True that. The pride showed by this country, I don't know if this is a permanent change but I think Canada came out of it's shell when it comes to sport.

My favorite moments were Alexandre Bilodeau's win. That guy is so humble and so deserving to be the first Canadian to ever win in Canada. The way he's so close to his family and his brother I think was one of the great moments of the games.

I also loved John Montgomery. Talk about the stereotypical Canadian, eh? Drinking a pitcher of beer on the streets of whistler and just his infectious personality. I love that guy.

Lastly, can't not mention Joannie Rochette's performance. Enough said.

My last favorite moment has yet to come

The atmosphere. The city will never experience this type of buzz again. Ever.

I'll miss it

Im going to miss the crazy buzz around town.

All the Canada flags on all the windows.
The crowds on the streets.
The pride everyone showed.
Seeing many Olympic athletes and legends.
The wonderful job at Shaw Tower in the midst of all the chaos.

But most of all im really gonna miss that feeling of anticipation leading up to the games. Seeing the final preparations and touchs being put through on the Olympic venues and pavilions. Everyday waking up to changes and news on what went up downtown like the murals and lights. It was so exciting.

It has been an amazing Winter Olympics for me with moments ill forever cherish.

I'll miss the shared connection that we have instantly when we see each other decked out in Canada stuff.

I'll miss the gathering places and the shared experiences.

I'll miss the lit cauldron.

I'll miss my sudden expertise at winter sports rules and strategy. It'll somehow disappear in a few hours.

(but I'll be glad to get my favourite local places back to myself.)

From what I've noticed, quite interested and enthusiastic, but not as if it were their own soccer team playing Marseille (as is the case tonight. Everyone in every bar is GLUED to the TV)

But The French, who generally know rather little about Vancouver, were surprised to see the shots of the city and mountains, and said "what a beautiful city!!" and so on. Generally positive, but as I said, not as if it were their home city football team playing.

(I might mention that it is surprising, here in Paris, to find out just how many French people HAVE been to Vancouver. They all seem to like it, and they all love the scenery)

I loved seeing random ball hockey games breaking out everywhere. I loved seeing everyone in red and white and generally really really happy. I loved talking to tourists and trying to make their trip better any way I could. I loved watching events, I just wish they were spaced out a bit more so I could see them all. I loved seeing Canada's first Gold Medal, I'll never forget that moment. I loved seeing how this city came together, it made me really proud to be a Vancouverite, not just a proud Canadian.

I just wish some of the houses and LiveCity would stay open a little longer, I did so much but wasn't able to see it all

The deliriously happy crowds - everywhere, all the time. Friendly, not as drunk as the media seems to think, just folks having a great time and enjoying the company of friends, family, and people they've just met.

Of course yesterday everyone was thrilled. But even last Sunday after that unfortunate bump in the road, people were out having a great time.

Also loved seeing glowing images of our wonderful city and region on heavy rotation for all the world to see.
