I would like to see the Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba to win.

But with MacFayden I don't think it is likely.

Also I would like to see the Green Party get a couple of seats, although I won't vote for them.

The Diva News Desk declares Gary Doer and the New Democratic Party winner...

Seriously, every poll I read sees the majority of support for Doer (not just as Premier, but more support for his schemes than the other parties' ideas, etc)

I think Paul Janz had a hit called "Send me a Miracle".

I voted liberal. They actually have released some forward thinking policies - versus the knee-jerk PC's and NDP.

That being said, the NDP will form a very similar government to what they have currently following the election. Nothing will change.

Seriously Newflyer, I've been an NDP guy my whole adult life, and the past couple years I've changed my mind a little and decided to give PC ideas a fair hearing. I had high hopes for McFadyen.
I had high hopes too .. its a shame the PC's haven't found a strong leader.

I'd vote Liberal, if I thought they'd have a chance. I like their vision of making Manitoba a "have province".

As it is I would probibly still vote PC .. just for the outside chance there was miricle outcome.

None of the parties really deserve to form government, they all run lackluster campaigns.

However, if you truly love Manitoba don't vote for the NDP.

I think I am changing to the Liberals...McFadyen has been pissing me off lately. He seems to be not mature enough to run a province....

this year will be a low voters turn-out because nobody gives a rats ass.

Unfortunately the NDP will win, a poor city votes for a poor ass party who fail do anything on there much heralded social platform.

F*ck, this is what pisses me off sometimes. People complain that "Oh I'd vote, but it wouldn't matter anyways because I feel that my voice is not heard." Bullshit. If you want change, then vote for change. Hell, follow the example of the folks of Gimli. They kicked out all of their town hall councillors and mayor in favour for a new one.

I mean, we should do the same thing too, right? Kick out the Doer government altogether and put either Gerrard or MacFayden in power in this desolate province. Or put in at least a Minority government like Quebec. That'll punish all of them for not actually giving a damn for the province itself.

Sorry, I'm done now.

It would be nice. These forums, however, do not represent society as a whole. During the last federal election, a similar poll showed that, if it was entirely up to Canadian SSP members, the Green Party would be the majority government right now.

The Liberals obviously have the best (read: only) pro urban platform, so it follows that they'd be popular with SSP'ers. Myself included.

I was originally going to go PC but the Liberals are running a good campaign. They won my vote.

Hugh has made too many crazy promises. THe pst, jets and not giving legal aid to repeat offenders. It appears that they are just having a brain storming session and saying what ever they think will get them votes rather than a planned cohesive platform

I got cut off by some SUV hauling a McFadyen trailer around town this morning. Not the most green marketing strategy.

I did see a bunch of Lime media trucks with McFadyen signs on them weeks ago, but never saw them on the streets ...

Nope, Liberal. Don't let the Castro avatar fool you, there's no love lost between me and socialists of any stripe.

McFadyen's campaign has been embarrassingly bad. Trying to drum up support on some fictitious crime wave that he'll somehow stop is insulting. Fixating on cutting the PST when eliminating the capital and payroll taxes would do far more for growth and employment is senseless populism. Same with his claim he'll bring the Jets back--plus he won't be able to. The man is grasping at straws; it's almost as bad as Paul Martin's losing campaign a couple years ago. The PCs honestly deserve to lose, and they'd suck if they won.

The NDP is garbage. That much is given. Their recent anti-employment regulation package shows them for the cut and run defeatists they are. Helping workers? Try fucking over every unemployed or underemployed person in the province who now won't better themselves because the cost of hiring them is higher. Manitoba will stagnate as long as they're in power. I guarantee it.

But the Liberals actually have a coherent set of policies--except for their ad hoc anti-Oliwest plan. And Gerard seems like an honest, intelligent guy. Too bad the Liberals aren't even a party here.

Let the diaspora begin. Or continue, rather. I'm past caring.
