Now that I come to think about it, replacing any bridge over St Lawrence River in Québec won’t be easy business.

What's with the massive police presence on that bridge? Canada Day Celebration?

Actually no, the photo was taken on Friday. The police set up a check stop on the bridge. It caused quite a jam as two road converge prior to the bridge.

Of course, the fact that it's basically a small scale version of one of my favourite bridges in the world (Shanghai's Lupu Bridge) definitely works in its favour.

The new $4B international crossing between Windsor and Detroit is slated to start construction by the end of July, finally!

I’m simply surprised that the bridge is still set to be built despite the tariff war between US and us right now.

This bridge has been in the works for almost 20years, I doubt that tariffs would be enough to derail it.

Those hydro poles are more than a kilometer away from the bridge. They are actually much closer to the Victoria bridge. It's the zoom effect.

No, it's not the zoom effect, there are poles 100m east of the bridge, over the seaway : Google street view. But it's only for a short distance, then they follow the seaway to where MartinMtl showed, closer to Victoria Bridge

Yes, you're right. I totally forgot about that few hydro poles along the bridge on the south shore. But it's a stretch to say that they detract from the aesthetic of the bridge. They are barely noticeable. You can clearly see them (well ONE hydro pole to be exact) on this Instagrams and also see how insignificant they are in the big picture.

Are those yellow objects hanging over the top traffic lights? Did MTQ seriously put lights on an autoroute??

These are lights that indicate which laneways are accessible, in each direction. The configuration is customizable (for traffic, road works, etc.) And by the way, this bridge is of federal jurisdiction, not provincial.
