I think the confusion arose from the initial floor report. I can distinctly remember it being announced as 41 stories (?) which would easily make 600'.

With the two extra floors it will be at least 500ft.

It's with. The former height without the two floors is the current number listed at emporis.com.

I didn't realize it untill I saw the night rendering, that the whole top wedge section is just empty space. There's a lot of height padding going on with that. I had thought there were at least 4-5 floors of office space in there, and still room for mechanicals.

Is that space supposed to be something? could make a cool rooftop club or restaurant with all that going on overhead. But I'm guessing there's probably exec suites with a rooftop garden.

Wow, Terminus sure is going up quickly. I guess they are still aiming for the 2007 completion.

It is actually going to be 6 stories. Here is a quote from the Architect.

Quote:
When viewed from a distance, especially at night, the building will look as if it has been "carved, almost like a sculpture," Duda said.
The top of the building will be a folded plane constructed entirely from translucent glass and lit from within, to give it a glow that will be visible for miles.

Great shots, if you could take pics from the other side of Realm, because that side looks more complete.

Wow, great update. Last August I was in Atlanta and I took some pics of this site and at that time I remember seeing Realm but I had no idea it was to be that tall. This area is really looking nice.

Aquaknox and Lola to brand Terminus tower

Atlanta Business Chronicle
March 24, 2006
by Rachel Tobin Ramos

The new restaurants at Terminus 100, Cousins Properties Inc.'s 27-story Buckhead office building, are meant to offer more than just lunches and business dinners.

They will "brand" the project, giving it a sense of place, according to Kevin Polston, the head of retail leasing for Cousins (NYSE: CUZ) who's been deciding what will go in the 35,000 square feet of available restaurant space.

Cousins is mixing Atlanta newcomers Aquaknox and BrickTop's with two successful Atlanta mainstays, MF Sushi Bar and restaurateur Tom Catherall.

The restaurants, slated to open in May 2007, represent millions of dollars in investment.

British-born and Atlanta-based Catherall, of Here to Serve, said he plans to spend at least $3 million to develop Lola, his first Italian concept.

Expect California inspired-Italian food, light on heavy sauces and heavy on vegetables.

Catherall said Lola will be very feminine, like the name. "We want to attract the ladies," because where women go, men follow, he said. Lola will be Catherall's seventh Atlanta restaurant.

Aquaknox will be Atlanta's first restaurant from Orlando, Fla.'s E-Brands Restaurants. The "global water cuisine" was originated by Chef Stephan Pyles in Dallas, but after several ownership swaps, E-Brands bought the name and opened Aquaknox in The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino in Las Vegas.

That's where Polston found it on his annual trip to the International Conference of Shopping Centers. (The Dallas restaurant is closed.)

E-Brands Chief Operating Officer Charly Robinson said the Atlanta restaurant will cost about $4 million. He likes Atlanta because it's "a sophisticated city," and "Buckhead is the hub of business and travel in Atlanta."

This will be Aquaknox's second restaurant. The dinner-only concept in Las Vegas generates about $10 million in revenue, where average tickets are about $75.

Terminus also will be home to the third BrickTop's nationwide and the second MF Sushi Bar. The BrickTop's concept was created by two veterans of the Houston's Restaurant chain, Joe Ledbetter in Nashville, Tenn., and Tom Brunnberg in Lighthouse Point, Fla. Ledbetter has had a 20-year relationship with the Cousins developers.

"Of all the sites we're looking at in all of America, from Boston to Chicago to Miami, we think this is the highest-profile location," Ledbetter said.
