Fail on that article, it is not halfway yet not even to the roof...

Half of 1368 is 684

Let alone to the spire or comm. ring

^^^ I’m sure it’s less of an error and more of an attempt to draw attention to the site.

They were just measuring by floor heights, which is where they went wrong

It's like 615 feet to the top of the steel now, not even halfway to the observatory deck.

at 888 (or 684 feet) feet they can say it's officially halfway. It needs a couple more weeks.

you don't copy the link to the photo, you copy the image itself. Make sure it says .jpg after the photo.

Talking Can't wait!

I gave up on trying to post the pictures...but here's 2 links!

I cannot wait to see the Freedom Tower peaking over the other skyscrapers north of the Battery!!! It will make sitting in traffic on the B.Q.E. a lot easier!!! I love the view of Lower Manhattan coming from the South. Only a matter of time before WTC 1 is the centerpiece of my Skyline. I'm beyond thrilled and thankful that we are rebuilding EXACTLY this way.

Driving North on B.Q.E...anyone have any guess as to what WTC 1's height will need to be before she is visible from this angle? I'm thinking another 200 ft? 800 ft total??

What they meant by halfway is 52 of 104. That Port Authority put that information out there, so blame them.

World Trade Center build at halfway point

17 December 2010

Quote:
Steel construction has reached the halfway point for New York's 1 World Trade Center.

The Manhattan building, also known as the Freedom Tower, stands more than 600ft (180m) high.

The tower will eventually have 104 stories, with an antenna reaching hundreds of feet higher, bringing it to 1,776ft - making it the tallest in the country.

Steve Coleman, spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, said he was hopeful they would finish the building by the end of 2011.

The glass looks much better with more panels installed. I'm in love with the stainless steel corners, too.

The more glass gets put up the better it looks, I think. I had my worries when the first few panels were put up but a lot of those fears are gone now.

It'll be fine! And the corner pieces were a brilliant idea, they're going to make all the difference! Whoever came up with that needs a promotion.

Great video from the BBC on the floor halfway mark:
