ARTivity on the Green:
This is one of the designers. I think he designed the stage?

He recently launched a brand, Autoclave LLC. that will be handling the project. The brunt of his work, though, is handled through his company, Cunningham Industrial Design, which is based out of Winston-Salem. As a member of Winston-Salem’s AFAS, he is currently working on the design elements of a proposed arch that will be constructed in downtown Winston-Salem. “There are certain constraints you have to work within on projects like that,” he said. “Budget constraints, time, materials, and then approval.”

500 West Fifth Street:
A company has recently (around two weeks ago?) completed due diligence on the 21-storey 500 West Fifth Street Building. This likely tells us a major announcement is coming soon? I'm excited to see who the developer is and what their plans are! Yes, it will likely become apartments and retail. If it does become apartments and retail, this will become Winston-Salem's tallest residential tower at 21-storeys and 330 feet tall (101 meters tall)!

Civic Plaza / Merschel Plaza:
We finally have an update on this project! Mayor Joines has said he is an advocate for constructing underground parking below this proposed park. He also said it's an important project that must be built as soon as possible, which is great to hear! They are waiting to see the Pepper Building's final plans, before moving forward with the park. The Pepper Building is currently in the interior demolition phase.

Pepper Building Apartments & Retail:
Did someone say Pepper Building? This is a better view of the interior demolition from the awesome photographer Urban Mez.
