STR, perhaps you can use those renders for a new drawing in the diagrams! Excellent work that pays my respect.

Thanks. This will be a nice, solid building.

Even with its neighbors the Carnegie Hall and Metropolitan towers, this building will be a far greater standout along that spot of Midtown North.

Of course it will because it will completely block both of those buildings!

Jesus, do they got like two people working on this thing? It would be on the 20th floor by now if this were China.

I agree that there doesn't seem to be a lot of activity but you shouldn't compare US construction to China's.

And is it just me or does this building seem very 'makeshift' so far?

Assuming I correctly interpreted the official renders, I'm not a fan of the crown.

EDIT: I now realize I didn't get it 100%, but it still doesn't matter.

I'm fine with the crown as is. It's topped by neither a "flat" roof nor a spire, but makes its mark, a major role in the overall performance of the skyline.
As far as pace of construction, keep in mind construction financing isn't in place yet.

I feel the same. It's a pretty cool building, but not great. Tall, yes... great design, no.

Of all the supertalls going up, not just in New York, but around the world, there aren't many that I would classify as "great". However, I do believe the finished product of this tower will be much better than the renderings present it to be. It's an awkward site, with awkward massing, but I think they've worked around that.
