Friend took this photo from Jersey City--love the juxtaposition between the park & the skyline. I'd love to get down there but it's just so far from the Upper West.

I'm no expert but it was the normal red-ish steel rather than the grey coated stuff that went up last week. There seems to be a decent amount of both types on earth cam on the south side of the base, waiting to go up.

I work at 2Wfc so will try to keep an eye on it.

If they're red and not brownish then those will go to form the louver walls.

I think it's steel for the floors and not perimeter columns. Hard to tell and I'm not an expert.

A little off topic, but why are so many of those buildings in this picture brown? Is it just older affordable housing?

Those brown buildings are housing projects.

Here's some new information on the site from the WSJ, mostly how 3 World Trade is stopping construction at the 8th floor (it's sad to hear that, I actually like that tower more than 2 WTC). http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000...788560162.html

Nice aerials. Those are some views you don't see too often.

I don't get it. How are these massive projects like Hudson Yards supposedly getting built, but they can't even find tennants for the WTC sites?

If towers 2 and 3 get capped off, this whole project will be a complete waste. Maybe that's just an over-reaction on my part, but it just pisses me off that they've spent all these years messing with this project, and they can't even seem to get it fully off the ground still.....
