Good stuff. Nice to see Hamilton regaining its place as a bastion of football in Canada.

Same here. But different sponsors and TV networks will likely keep that from happening again anytime soon.

They really took a hit switching from TSN to Rogers... They were getting nearly 1 million viewers at the end on TSN, and then down to the low hundreds of thousands on Rogers.

Anyone recall offhand how long that contract goes for?

Rogers promised them weekly OUA football and Vanier playoffs, with "occasional" games from other sports throughout the year, leading up to the March of Champions, then reneged on all but the Vanier and limited championship coverage as soon as they got control.

The contract was for seven years IIRC, which would leave four or five (?)to go.

He will also be lovingly remembered as Canada's Greatest OCD Sufferer.

On one occasion, in his later years in the WWF when he was a preliminary or mid card wrestler, he showered so long after his match, the lights were turned out and the building closed. He missed his ride back to the hotel.

Sharpe was known as "Mr Clean" to the other wrestlers.

Absolutely! Of course a few exceptions might need to take place. For example Quebec City has done a great job hosting the Vanier in recent years.

I believe this is the first time that the Vanier and Grey Cups will be played in the same province since 2012 when Toronto hosted them both. And with Hamilton and Toronto hosting them this year it can certainly be attainable to see both championship games for those who are interested.

^ I wish Winnipeg would get the Vanier. With a decent effort I'm sure it could draw about 15-20 thousand fans which would look respectable on TV. I know the weather and distance from other CIS schools is an issue, but Saskatoon had to deal with those things and theirs was a smashing success as I recall.

Kind of indirectly related to sports in Canada:

NFL confirms it should have a local team in London by early 2020s

This guy just keeps getting more and more fun.

He's threatening to wear his IceCaps jersey to the NHL all-star game.

Yes it was (and it couldn't have been a colder November day). What will remain forever unknown is how successful it would have been had the hometown team not been one of the participants.

Milos Raonic is on to the 4th round. I am very impressed by his play. However, I do not think he will have enough weapons to beat Wawrinka (his next opponent).

Felix Auger-Aliassime starts his junior Grand Slam tonight as the 4th seed.

Most impressed that he didn't fold after the fourth set. Rumors that Wawrinka had a bit of a head cold affecting him, but Milos came out to play and played tough in the fifth. A good mental sign.

Felix wins his first match. Juniors is so hard to judge draws of because the play of any of the competitors is generally improving a lot with each match.

Felix on to the third round of the junior slam. Pretty dominant win (based on the score, I didn't watch), 6-2, 6-1.
Much better test tonight against the #15 seed.
Raonic is also playing his QF match against Monfils at 3AM so I'll have to PVR that match and watch tomorrow.

^I won't tell you the result then.

Felix loses his third round match, but as I said the juniors is so hard to predict. 1,2 and 4 all lost their matches so only #3 is left. A couple of wins in the junior tourney at a Grand Slam is an excellent result.

Junior Grand Slams are difficult to predict because you get youngsters like Auger at 15 years old against more average 18 year olds. Very few of the top ranked men's players won junior grand slam titles, with Monfils being the exception. At this rate, by the time Auger is 18, he'll likely be in main draws rather than the junior draws which would mostly be a waste of his developmental time at that point. The better juniors can play in main draws by that age rather than staying in juniors.

Great tournament from Milos thus far. Here's hoping he can continue against Murray. I have no doubts he can.
