Maysville, KY

Maysville is a town of 9,000 in Mason County, northeastern Kentucky. It is located on the Ohio River, 62 miles upstream from Cincinnati and 100 miles downstream from Huntington. In the 1830's Maysville was the #2 city in Kentucky after Louisville. It has a phenominal built environment for a town it's size.

Manchester, OH (pop 2,000) gave us William L. Strong, the last mayor of pre-merger New York City (1895-1897)

The Simon Kenton Memorial Bridge, completed in 1931, connects Maysville to Aberdeen, Ohio.

This adorable little building says something about property values in the early days of downtown Maysville.

Cincinnati's architectural sphere of influence indeed.

Well done. Appalachian Ohio and I love Maysville.

This is my favorite type of small town... I hope you found somewhere to eat while you were there.

Adams County, OH looks beautiful!

Someday I hope to randomly run into you while exploring some off-the-beaten-track small town lol

This is a great little town. I love the row inthe 4th pic and the narrow streets lined with tall buildings (at least tall for a town this size!). Avery nice urban environment.

Though it seems kind of rough around the edges, it is a cool looking small city. And the 7 foot wide building is a gem. Wonderful tour Tt, thanks.

Quite a place for a city of 9,000. Must have been bigger at one time. Is that a power plant in the background or something else? Thanks for the tour!

Great set! I love Maysville, some great restaurants and cafes in the DT, and some buildings undergoing restoration.

I always enjoy traveling through Maysville. It's amazing that so many of the older buildings Downtown have survived. A really nice collection of photos.

Yes, power plants are located east and west of town. The towers in the background are from the place on the Ohio side of the river that is east of the town of Manchester.

Wow, I love this "little" town. (It's actually way bigger than my hometown). Under the grit and grime and dilapidation a great city lays underneath.

I have been missing a lot in the city photos section. Loved this set.
