Columbus never gets talked about and it is a very nice city with a lot of diversity, dense areas, rich architecture, a rapidly growing downtown in a rapidly growing metro area too. The river is nice and there are tons of things to do there. Most of everthing you need in a big city is there and it is very progressive/liberal too. I guess it doesn't have an NFL team but it does have the NHL and Major League Soccer. The future is very bright here and maybe it is good the secret is not out about this city. Everyone should get to know this place more by reading the visitors guide or relocation guide online etc. and just see why this city is really special. If you are in Cincy, Dayton or Cleveland and you have time take a ride in town. There are plenty of construction projects in the urban core and throughout the city.

i remember one time, you described columbus' urbanity as being similar to that of toronto, but sort of "one step down," intensity-wise. from the looks of things, that was spot-on.

A lot looks like I remember it albeit minor changes: that "Burrito" restaurant where that BBQ place sat empty across from OSU for what seemed like forever, the new fountain in Goodale Park's pond, and the new (and very well done) apartments on top of Northstar and Z Pizza. Then a few major ones such as: the long abandoned Ibiza site soon to actually have people living there, mid-rises on S High near Columbus Commons, and the bike share. Good to see old stand-bys like the Dube and Mikey's going strong. Seeing El Arepazo makes me want an arepa drenched in their green sauce right now, even though I just ate.

I had to scroll up several times to see what city I was viewing and make sure I didn't read it wrong. I've never seen this side of Columbus, but man is it beautiful! You have a knack for always showing the best sides of everywhere you go.

^ Me too! Great sampler of Cbus!

A few things I really enjoy about Cbus (vs my former abode of Mpls) is all the brick, the rowhomes and a streetscape not interrupted by skyways!

How does this work? They had something similar in Amsterdam in the sixties, but that project failed miserably. Bikes were stolen and painted in a different colour.
