Red face TORONTO | E Condo | 194 M | 638 FT | 58 FL

http://econdos.ca/

Website has launched. E condos also has an ad in the latest New Condo Guide. This is progressing faster and launching sooner than I had expected. I liked the black and red design, will be interesting to see what refinements they make.

I was wondering, "what the hell is E Condos?", but now I remember, it's the one on the NE corner.
It hasn't been given the nod yet though, right?

No this one does not have city approve yet. But across the street from Min to Midtown shouldn't be to hard.

I'm not so sure. The area is notoriously NIMBY. Remember, Stintz was elected solely based on her vocal opposition to Minto, which she ultimately failed to stop. I don't know what her position is on this tower, but I assume she's opposed to it.

Quite an impressive and striking design. I was pleasantly surprised considering how I'm generally not a fan of the architect, Varacalli. This project is launching sooner than I expected, will be interesting to see what refinements they make to this design.

Looks a bit garish to me but I kind of like the podium.

I hope they don't alter a thing. I love the heaviness of it.

Too bad the podium was scrapped. It had a "beautiful ugly" quality to it. A fun revisit of brutalism.

Now it's far less urban. The towers seem kind of lost now.

I agree. I liked the old design of the podium. Like you say, it had a brutish loook that worked.
I like in the new rendering that there are two towers now of similar height. Does anybody have any info on how tall each is proposed to be? It would be great if both break the 200m mark, but from the looks I doubt the second one is more than about 180m.

We'll need a telescope, not a magnifying glass.

I agree with the comments about brutalism. The narrow tower has a Manulife/Sheraton look.

Not too sure about that.

Very slender and modern materials .....

Very light....

Personally I don't really like the design, but at least it's over 200 m.

I love the pool. What would have been even cooler was if the po0l was situated in the protruding box and also had a glass floor.
