The man who's spent his entire NHL career trying to promote hockey in the sunbelt? He's a freaking hero down there - if they even know who he is.

Congrats Kings, well deserved Cup.

I enjoyed the celebrations as opposed to last year.

Great cartoon, but not sure I understand why there's a golden coloured seal in it. They eventually became part of the Stars, who have won the cup.

Maybe it's referencing the SF area, but that's just weird - they went ages without a team.

The Sharks are technically the old Seals franchise.

It was split off again when the Sharks came in. It's kind of complicated, but the old owners of the Seals got a share in the Stars, but sold them off to get a new franchise for San Jose. The Sharks took quite a few Minnesota players with them and the Stars were allowed to pick in the expansion draft.

Ah, yeah, I vaguely remember that now... subtle reference. Someone who clearly follows the minutiae made that cartoon.

Did the Seals' history/banners (if any)/etc move to San Jose? Does the NHL consider it one franchise? Either way, in spirit if not officially I guess it makes sense.
