Here's a before and after:

It actually doesn't look THAT much shorter; certainly not the half-size stump that the initial articles described. It's a good sign that it was hard to notice in the rendering to begin with.

For a second, I almost thought the negative was reversed in the last pic because of the road below, until I realized it was just an illusion! It almost looks as if your looking west from the east side of the bridge, but it's the other way.

Came across this rendering of The Crystals, I was wondering if that will be the exact locations of the stores?
Also a 3D fly through of steel construction. http://www.bdsglobal.com/videos/crys...y-through.aspx

Veer is turning out to be stunning. Will probably wind up being one of the most photographed pieces of the project.

I found this article from Hotelsmag.com discussing the Cosmopolitan. This article states a Sept 2010 scheduled opening. It also states they are still in negotiations with Hilton and a gaming license has not been secured.

http://www.hotelsmag.com/article/CA6673551.html

This seems like it is taking forever. Heck Sept of 2010? Won't all of City Center be done by then? Didnt Cosmo start building before City Center?

Sept 2010... I wonder if the Harmon Hotel will be completed by that time as well.

I read that CAD International is working on the new interior design for the Cosmopolitan. They did the interior for the W Hotel and Residences that was canceled a few years back. Those renderings of the W Hotel are on their website and in my opinion would be perfect for the Cosmopolitan. You can check those renderings by following the link, go to the gallery and it will be the Hotel and Residences Las Vegas.

Here is the article mentioning CAD International... This article mentions a June 2010 opening, but I think a Sept. opening is more accuarte.

I'm guessing 30% price reduction, but hoping for more. Developers of new buildings in Miami are having to go as low as $200/ foot to move condo product.

I could not disagree more. I was very much in the know about the W project and one of the reasons I did not participate was due to their choice of interior design. The look was more Neo 70's done cheaply. One reason I chose to get involved with the Cosmo, along with location and views, was I knew the Eichner's would design something special for the room interiors. Anyone who saw the models at either of the two locations would have seen the use of more expensive tiles, veneers and layouts than any or Hotel or Condo hotel in Vegas. Not everyone might like the actual colors or ??? but the overwhelming number of folks I took to the Models were BLOWN AWAY. For the new owners to have relied on Related Group, who have been nothing but a mess for Vegas unit purchasers, for choosing interior design and firms, was and is nothing short of bad business. Now Deutche is looking for new designs even though they have room designs right at their finger tips.

We do not know for sure how long the delay will be while this new design comes into existence but what a shame to lose those room interiors previously shown as models. Of course it will be interesting to see if the cost of materials goes up or down from the previous concepts but my guess is cost savings may be at the heart of the matter.

I think most buyers would be content with 30%. Minimum would probably be a 20% price cut. I don't think they'll go near 40 or 50 since there is a premium for the location, amenities etc. Financing options for each property would help to seal the deal.

This is really the last hurdle for them concerning CityCenter. Make closings happen, open the property to a tons of publicity in Dec., then start raking in cash from the casino, food & beverage and closings to turn the company around.

Bloomberg just updated the CityCenter condo story to "MAY" cut prices. The final decision rests with the board of the CityCenter joint venture with Dubai World.
