I'm hoping for NY, but even though the series is tied, getting outplayed 5 of the last 6 periods doesn't bode well.

Go Kings go!

The Kings have yet to lose away, and have only lost 1 playoff game so far. Jesus christ.

I think it's great to see LA doing so well, and the Staples Centre one of the most electric buildings in the playoffs.

Really hoping for the Rangers to pull through, I might win my pool if they get past NJ and take LA to 7 games.

Eric Francis said last month that the Oilers would be hiring Brent Sutter.

But, I didn't really think too much about it considering it was Eric Francis.

I don't know what I'll do if he was actually right.

The NHL should relocate a team to St. John's and then maybe a Canadian team could make it far in the playoffs seeing the IceCaps made it to the Conference Finals in their inaugural season.

LA once again up 3-0 in their series... jesus...

We'll find out soon if they'll be so dominant against a Eastern team.

BTW-Anyone saw Kovalchuk's snipe yesterday? Wow, one of the most precise shot I have ever seen!

I would settle for the repatriation of a certain NHL team stuck in a desert where no one cares to Quebec City sooner than later!

It's not like they're an expansion franchise... That is good for them though, I'm hoping for a Marlies-Ice Caps final, but unfortunately I think Norfolk is taking this one.

St. John's is much, much, much too small a market for the NHL to consider anyway, and it's very much out of the way geographically, which is the reason the Maple Leafs moved in the first place.

The Kings are reminding me a lot of the 2006 Oilers - an unsuspecting team that squeaked into 8th place at the last game of the season, and systematically dismantled the top teams in the West to make it to the Final.

Also, after watching just two periods of hockey, I really hate Mike Smith with his diving, embellishing, whining, and blaming everyone else for his own screw-ups. He should play for Vancouver.

Comparisons to the 2004 Flames and 2006 Oilers are all fine and dandy, until you look at the Kings and realize they have actual talent.

Unfortunately Darryl Sutter said much the same thing lol

They could realistically do what the Flames and Oilers failed to do.

Los Angeles was a good team who struggled early, and finally made the playoffs, while the Flames and Oilers were "OK" teams who fell in to a spot and ran with it.

Love the Rangers/Devils conference finals too. Marty has had some unreal saves.

Either way its going to be a west coast/east coast war for the stanley cup lol

The Kings were always just an "OK" team this year that fell into that 8th spot.

And I have no idea where you got the idea that 2004 Flames and 2006 Oilers "lacked talent" compared to this LA team? Unless you believe that guys like Iginla or Pronger are just "OK" players.

But yes, I agree that the Kings could do what the 2004 Flames, 2006 Oilers, and 2011 Canucks all failed to do.

It was borderline dirty for me... the play was offside and yes, he was in a awkward position but you have to try and minimize the impact.

Anyway congrats to the Kings being in the Stanley Cup finals. It brings back sweeeet memories.

The post-game whining is making me nauseous:

Smith: "All season long it seems like [refs] did everything they could to not get us to this position."
Yandle on refs: "I know they wear the same color uniforms as the Kings, but they didn't have to play for them tonight."

The Coyotes really took a page out of the Canucks' book. Maybe they forgot that the refs handed them the 1st series this playoffs?

Anyway, congrats to the Kings. They are a far more likeable team than Phoenix, that's for goddamn sure.

I thought that hit was a bit dirty.. But at least Brown didn't score the winning goal in OT with the fresh blood of the other team's best player still on his blade.. *still bitter*

They got to the final in 14 games... That is completely ridiculous. To put it into perspective, if NYR wins in 7 like they have every other series, they would have played 21 games. That would mean the western team would have played seven less games than the eastern team going into the final. The equivalent of playing one less entire full series.

Insane.

More nonsense from Mike Smith:

“If Raffi Torres gets 25 games for a hit during the play, then this guy (Brown) should be done forever.”

Seriously? He's comparing one of the dirtiest hits in the NHL ever, to a minor penalty at most.
