I'm not fully sold on the trees roof for Union Centre. The combination of the corporate-pomo looking glass and setbacks and the clumps of greenery just has a very suburban office park vibe.

33 Sherbourne sure looks good though!

Does there seem to be any movement on Mirvish? It's been several years since it was proposed and nothing seems to have happened.

The current designs are approved by the city, but the owner sold the land and the new developer has proposed a height increase which will probably take another year to be re-approved.

both the towers were approved at 305 and 275m and then Great Gulf bought the project. in December 2018 Great Gulf resubmitted the application asking for height increase(329m, 302m), they are very close to getting the approval. my guess is that they will start construction by next year.

Oh man, if they do the materials right, The United could be an amazing building.

Do we know what the status is for it? Has it been approved yet? The design is decent but could stand to be refined a bit since there are so many competing materials and sections. There's the historic deco podium, the historic beaux-arts podium, glass on the new part of the podium, the concrete? on the balcony section of the tower and the glass part of the tower all in a single building. Honestly there are enough different design elements for three different buildings here.

As much as most of us are tired of glass, I thunk they should have carried the glass part of the podium up onto the tower, replacing the current concrete balcony section, while the glass part of the tower could be replaced by the concrete design.

At least the glass section looks to be a sophisticated curtainwall with metallic shadow box spandrel instead of glossy plastic window wall. Not all glass is made the same.
