A quick snap from my phone tonight, showing the 9/11 memorial light, the new PATH station, 3WTC, and 50 West St all in one scene :]

Even better, T3 has finally surpassed 22 Cortlandt Street (the lame tower immediately opposite it)... so skyline impact can now legitimately be discussed.

I wonder though why they have not (so far) extended the construction elevator on the Church Street side... that one has been there from the beginning, I know there is a different one now on the south side, did the contractor change vendors in midstream?

good shots Chris . . . the big skyline shot is very informative . .
Leonard unveiling irregular crown detail . . T3 - seems just shy of halfway-height mark.
its big zigs graphically zagging so clearly up the sides of its front . .
50 West - most surprizing to me . . it's glass (looking like glass & aluminum horizontals)
rising so far above its neighboring surroundings . . and so far south . . v. nice addition.
Is there a way you could get your shots even huger ? . .
so that we blind people wouldn't have to squint so hard ? . .

Even more than that, I was wondering how they plan to jack the crane on the NE corner. I think normally the crane is jacked up thru the building and then the supports follow. But in this case, they've already installed metal corrugated steel for flooring. Given that, they can't jack up thru the building. They would have to install supports independent of existing support, which makes no sense.

I could make them bigger, but I don't want them to be too too big. Well, for me, I have a 2560x1440 monitor so they look normal to me, but if you guys are fine with this size then I will post more. These being on a cellphone too so there's limitations. I'll be in Midtown this coming Saturday so I will be covering that area. But if the weather is nice, will hit up the Lower East Side to check out 250 South and some other obscure high rises that aren't normally covered.

The core of this building doesn't rely on the perimeter columns for support correct? In theory, could you build the core to completion without rising the surrounding steel at all? Would wind loads be an issue? Just curious.

Man, look at all that construction downtown. We talk about the midtown boom here a lot, but downtown is definitely having its own boom, even putting aside the WTC site. NY's skyline is going to be insane in 15 years.

^ Not to mention what's going on in Downtown Brooklyn, LIC, and Jersey City.

Core is about what, 600 feet? Hopefully it'll reach 7WTC by Thanksgiving?

The cross bracing really looks great. I would have loved to see the full original design but I'm still really pleased with what we're getting. This may be my new favorite of the lot.
