Huge mixed-use project planned at Uptown's door on old Xerox site

Quote:
The new owner - which has retail and mixed-use properties in a half dozen states - is working on designs for a retail, restaurant, hotel, office and residential complex on the property, which is adjacent to the Cityplace development.

The proposed development would include a residential tower, luxury hotel, shopping and restaurants plus two office towers according to preliminary plans prepared by De La Vega Development. Almost 1.4 million square feet of development would be built on the property, which now has an office tower, data center and other commercial buildings.

Huge blow to downtown Fort Worth as XTO announces it's moving 1,600 employees (1,200 next year, the remainder by 2020) employees to the new Exxon Campus in the Woodlands. XTO was sold to Exxon in 2010. Before the sale, XTO owner Bob Simpson purchased dozens of neglected historic highrises in the heart of the CBD and has done a wonderful job restoring them, and they have been a huge part of the renaissance of downtown. They will be selling 5 of their downtown highrises and another building in the Stockyards, retaining one of the downtown buildings.

Here are the buildings they currently own and occupy.

The company also owns a large multistory garage and 4 surface lots in downtown, 2 of which comprise of 3/4 block and one is a full block.

It'll be really interesting to see what sort of TOD opportunities are realized with the TexRail line. Pretty cool to see some stuff already happening.

It's done: Pioneer Natural Resources inks deal for its Hidden Ridge campus

DMN

Quote:
The Dallas-based developer behind Toyota North America's 100-acre campus in Plano's Legacy West has signed its latest deal with Irving-based Pioneer Natural Resources' (NYSE: PXD) on its new corporate campus.
Quote:
"Pioneer's building will stand atop the highest point of the former Carpenter Ranch in Las Colinas, so it's only fitting that a great building site such as this go to a great company like Pioneer," said KDC CEO Steve Van Amburgh, in a statement.

"We've worked very closely with Pioneer to design a building that amplifies the beautiful and natural surroundings of the land yet is appropriately scale for Pioneer's employee-focused culture and modest character," he added.
Quote:
The 10-story office building, which will sit at 777 Hidden Ridge near Hidden Ridge and John Carpenter Freeway, will include a glass curtainwall, stone facade with an adjacent seven-story parking garage.
Quote:
The development group, which includes telecom provider Verizon, behind Hidden Ridge are expected to unveil plans later this year for the $1.5 billion project.
Quote:
Construction is expected to begin by the end of the month, with completion slated for winter 2019.

Park Plaza, site of the world's first drive-through bank, Hillcrest State Bank (1938)

  • Mixed-Use
  • Office
  • Retail
  • 347,000 SF

Quote:
The ground-floor retail serves as an amenity for the office workers and activates the street level.

The streetscape and pedestrian crossing areas are carefully planned to ensure visitor safety. Since the development will be built on the site of an old office building and two surface parking lots, the project required extensive rezoning through the City of University Park. The design was successfully approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission and is anticipated to start construction soon.

Residences at Hall Arts

Does anyone know why there are no construction workers or cranes at the site of the Residences at Hall Arts tower?
It has been a while since the ceremony..

What’s next for Roanoke? A luxury hotel and conference center

Quote:
A 300-room Peabody Hotel would be built south of the existing restaurant row, near where a new City Hall is under construction. Plans released Thursday call for 300 rooms and suites, a restaurant, two bars, a high-end spa and fitness center and a large rooftop swimming pool. There also would be more than 30,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

In a statement, Douglas V. Browne, president of Peabody Hotels & Resorts, said the hotel project “is still very much in the planning and financing stages.” But the developer, Bluff City Group, said it hopes to open the hotel within the next two years.

The hotel would be located along an extension of Oak Street south of the downtown strip, where Babe’s Chicken is located, as part of a new mixed-use project being developed by the Integrity Group of Justin. The area will include the new City Hall, residential units, retail space and offices, said Scott Campbell, Roanoke’s city manager.
Quote:
The Peabody, which dates to 1869, was restored and reopened in 1981. The property is known for its ducks, which swim in a fountain in the hotel lobby and waddle through the hotel daily. A fountain with ducks is also planned for the Roanoke property.

That's quite the catch for Roanoke. Cool to see!

Are there any plans in the near future to finish out the expressway of 114 all the way to I-35W? I'm sure there are plans, so let me rephrase this: Are there any plans in the near future to do this work?

Not to my knowledge.

However, NTTA will soon break ground on SH 170, connecting SH 114 to I-35W.
