Well the poll has been open for more than 4 years which is plenty of time to find our answer. And the answer is... London! Congratulations on being the official Commie-block Capital of Canada!

You can pick up your prize at the door.

As a prize, maybe we can all chip in and get one of these for a random London apartment block forecourt.

Better yet, please take our "National Victims of Communism" memorial. We don't want it. It's pointless and will take away one of the Fed's best pieces of land.

Kingston's got a pretty large number of commie blocks considering its size. There's at least 30 high-rise rental towers in this city, most of which are commie block style and built in the 1960s and 1970s. They're almost entirely in the suburbs, as heritage rules in the inner city prevented their development.

Wow that's awful. The design of the monument is irrelevant; that block is supposed to be for a new federal building that would be the third building framing the Supreme Court lawn, mirroring the same arrangement at Parliament. Way to ruin a century of planning for your personal legacy, Harper.

Hmm, going by that Macleans article that's a pretty popular sentiment.

Looks a bit like Jack Layton.

London may be slabsville central, but at least we don't have the eye of Sauron.

Any word on weather the Liberals will commission a "National Victims of Harperism" memorial? Something dull, cold, grey and soiled.

As long as other cities keep designing and approving them this title is far from safe.

Lougheed Town Centre is the biggest concentration of commie towers in Metro Vancouver. The new plan for this area will see 30 new 10-60 floor towers being added in the next 30 years, transforming Lougheed completely. Lougheed is where the new Evergreen Line meets Millennium Line.

Ontario is the King of Commie Blocks. Only Russia and perhaps some former Soviet republics can come close. Oh yeah, and China.

Hamilton made second place in the poll, just behind (yup, you guessed it) London.

It's no Hamilton but Calgary's West End and Beltline have a few doozies.

Some uglies from the Beltline:

Though my personal favourite dystopian commie block is situated outside the core near Westbrook mall.

It horrifies me to think of what was razed to build those. Except for Longueuil of course.
