A lot of cities are sorely underrated, and I firmly believe St. Louis is first among them. This city may be almost 250 years old, but it never gets old.

just wow -- i don't know how you do it, don't really want to know, i'd just prefer that its just done by magicians, but you top yourselves everytime with these threads. i really look forward to them.

an aside, but the thread title is also interesting to me in that cleveland had the moniker of '5th city' for the first half of the twentieth century on postcards and the like.

This thread might be your Mona Lisa,

or your David, given all the ass.

The people shots are masterful. And you always manage to capture a couple of places I've never seen before.

In other news, now going on 7 years of perpetual homesickness = ugh.

I didn't know St. Louis had bears running around on the loose!

Cool pics, and yes, STL is definitely underrated.

Just so everyone knows, that pic of the guy with the camera is neither STLgasm or me. It's our friend who was in town from NYC doing a photojournalism project about Rust Belt cities. Thanks for the kind words everyone!

Hey, Matt. You started a fight. Unless you have comments on the pictures or some constructive criticism, don't bother posting in this thread. How you thought you'd report part of fight of which you started and come out the other side unscathed is beyond me. If you have any questions, message me.

Thanks.

St. Louis - enjoyable posting

Thanks StlGasm for posting your interesting pics of St. Louis. I've visited St. Louis a couple of times for business conferences. I enjoyed it and found it to be very convenient (rail connection from airport to downtown). I didn't get out much but I could tell from the train ride and other interactions that the city had some funkiness (a good thing) and realness about it.
