Yeah walked past it as well yesterday. Large white tent over a corner of the property along Walnut. Nothing really to see. The parking lot at the corner of 20th and Sansom is still fully running. We'll know this is actually happening once that's cleared.

Great find. You can tell from the video that this will be a noticeable and great addition to the growing Philly Skyline. Anything over 500ft will continue to fill up our skyline views.

Someone send the Laurel Youtube video to Bezos and the other Amazon execs. This video shows off the city really well-attractive, vibrant, lively. As recent marketing motto goes, LIVE-WORK-PLAY is embodied in the video.

If that was really what they were looking for (like they said they were over and over and over), Philly would be the obvious choice. I think they are going to land in Northern VA as they always expected to, with a nice chunk off of their taxes...and laughing at everybody that bent over backwards to appease them.

Sorry, I'm salty.

Talking Like my smiley face?

So happy to see this finally going airborn!

Those renderings are so beautiful.

An observation, not a complaint:

Did anyone else notice that in the video/and or renderings, that The Laurel appears to be higher than Commerce Square? Which is also officially 565 feet?

Either Wikipedia has the wrong height for Commerce Square, or this one may be actually 585 feet? Or did I just swallow too much mouthwash after I brushed my teeth?

That's wonderful!

Can someone fix the headlines of the thread to read that please?

Just couldn't go the extra foot to get it to 600 feet?
I guess 599 feet sounds "less threatening" to the neighborhood.

599...I'll be happy with that. The Bargain price of 600 ft. Maybe they'll cheat at the end.....hahaha

This will be such a nice addition to the Rittenhouse Square area.
It actually looks like it's been there for years, "in a good way".

This building fills a massive gap in the skyline, much more than CITC. I almost can't unsee it now.

I wonder if it'll have a presence coming west 76.

It may have a presence coming west or east on I-76; its taller then the PECO Building and Commerce Square by a good margin. Should have good presence coming from I-95 south as well. Only place I can see it not having much of an impact may be in the northeast.

I'm sure it will (assuming you're asking about westbound from the airport to Valley Forge). But the view from eastbound 76, particularly between Spring Garden and 676 interchanges will be killer. The Laurel will be front and center and tower over its immediate neighbors. From this viewpoint, it should appear right over where the exit sign for 676 is in the distance.
