Is the Phase I BRT corridor being constructed in the manner to allow for upgrades to LRT?

What it looks like is the new 100 series routes will use the Busway, and replace the old route. (eg Route #162 will replace #62)

- Routes 160/(162/170) will be the main routes that use the corridor.
- Some of the routes that use the Osborne & Donald Street Bridges will now use the Main Street Bridge to transfer to the Busway.
- Route 60 will still operate. (Allow service to remain on Pembina between Osborne Junction and Jubille.
- They will be an express service (#185) to Osborne Village from the UofM.
Ah nice, thanks a lot

Yes. From stations to curves to the tunnel under the CN mainline.

Is anyone here a Winnipeg Transit driver? If so, could someone look into the Lost and Found department for an Canon Powershot a480? It's black and has some pictures of the new Phase I busway, along with some pics of Edmonton. Lost the damn thing on the last 26 bus this evening and it had the BRT pictures as well

Try calling 311 or visit the Lost and Found at the Wpg Square Concourse.
The Lost & Found # was 986-5054, but I think you have to use 311 as per WPG Transit Website.

Wow, what a ridiculous claim! I guess you're implying that Winnipeggers have some innate disposition to steal, as compared to people in other cities...

Hope your camera is returned man!

I'm giving it til Friday. After that, getting a cybershot or something. AS FOR WHERE I LOST IT, either at the bus terminal at Polo, or number 26 itself. Pretty sure it was the 26 though

Oh please. I left my wallet on a transit bus a few years back, and thought it would be gone for good. But the next day, I got a call from the man who found it on the bus and returned it to me. So quit making stupid claims like you just did. I'm sure if I had left it on the subway in Toronto, there would be a good chance that someone would return it to me as well.

There is always a chance that you won't get back something that you lost anywhere, in any city.

Interesting.

So the lines are being made with potential LRT future upgrades in mind then. That's really cool.

How is a corridor LRT upgradeable vs one that is not?

I would assume that the 2 major features would be:

1) turning radii and grading would be able to permit turns and dips by LRT vehicles/tracks

2) Stations would be able to accommodate platforms the length of potential LRT trains...

Although i dont have my pictures of it, I have walked on the RT line. It's definitely adaptable for LRT. Could easily see an SD-160 go down there...

It's surprising the grade an LRT will climb. In Toronto the 509 and 510 cars climb a grade coming from underground on Spadina near Bloor and also on Harbourfront near the Westin. It's pretty steep and the car went up easily even during a heavy, wet snowfall. Pretty impressive.

I'm wondering though if the grade requirements differ when it's more than a single streetcar...

Maybe I am being too cynical. There are always good people out there that turn in property. I hope you find your camera.
