Repost (cause this is socially significant and progressive), the latest social housing over Rive Gauche, 13th arrondissement.

http://www.taniaconcko.com/index.php...4-paris-13eme/

Way under construction.

http://www.pss-archi.eu/forum/viewto...696834#p696834

This is no "exclusive area", but quite urban and socially diverse.

It is supposed to host some micro units and a nursery to help poor immigrants here.
I'm proud of it. This is our Christian duty, our genuine local noble generosity.

Just hope the mediocre public employees of the city and of the Fr state won't manage to steal it from African immigrants.
They specialize in stealing taxpayer money over here...

I'd rather give money to Malian workers who're useful, actually building stuff than to the Fr little officials who're often helpless.
They had this insulting commentary coming for making fun of "foyers maliens" (Malian micro communities over Central Paris) on SSP (edit: sorry, I meant Fr-speaking SSC; I'm not even a member out there, cause they would make me run out of patience).
It pissed me off. That will teach them.

^ That's fair. They have taste and can afford it, eh?
They wouldn't pick anything too garish, and who doesn't like this old creamy limestone?
Typical and stylish local texture.

Very nice contemporary touch to that ceiling, too.
That's a good deal.

"Brexit: Paris still attracts London bankers, despite 'yellow vests'"

Isabelle Chaperon & Véronique Chocron
12/10/2018
Le Monde
https://www.lemonde.fr/economie/arti...5057_3234.html

"Social anger does not affect job relocation demands in France, despite competition from Frankfurt or Dublin."

"Can the mobilization of "yellow vests" challenge these projects in favor of Frankfurt or Dublin? "We have no indication of a change of plan from banks that have decided to relocate teams in Paris, says Marc Perrone, lawyer specializing in banking regulation at Linklaters, consulting firm of several US and international institutions in the United States. The big banks that are already very advanced in their planning, who rented premises in Paris, have, in any case, no time to change their tune, in a few months. "

Since 2002, it has had a branch in the 13th arrondissement for its young graduates, doctoral students and teacher-researchers wishing to spend one or two semesters on the Old Continent."

^ Nice to have them.

There must be a serious and growing culture of IT and AI in Illinois's colleges.
I hear they're involved in good projects and advanced research, much like the worldwide renown MIT and Caltech.

A little bit of their presence and some exchange will not hurt locally.

Talk about productivity...

Vincent on Vinci's new headquarters in Nanterre.

They manage to have 10 tower cranes on that same site.
Or maybe a dozen? Idk whether we can see them all on this shot. Lol.
That might be a record on this forum.

I was a bit shocked by the size of the parking garage that must be underground, though.
800 cars. Too many over Nanterre these days. Especially when they'll have a brand new RER station nearby.
They are being spoiled, huh.

Still impressed by the cranes, and all the coordination it must require from operators.

^ Honestly, I have no idea.

All I know is Vinci would be the world's largest construction corporation by revenue, so they got to know how to manage their business.

You can see what they're building for themselves in Nanterre here.
Far from super tall (they're no bank or anything of that kind), but it's kinda large. And they've been fast to implement it.
That corporation is a monster locally, and probably globally.
