The Fox and the Hound along with the Charlie Brown specials introduced me to the feeling of depression as child.

Though that pic is way too young for Cougar-ism.
A gay cougar is called a Chickenhawk. The young guys they're interested in are "chicken."

I think there has to be a huge age difference for a guy to be considered a chickenhawk. I have heard at least 20 years so that would mean the guy would have to at least be in his 40's before he could be a true Chickenhawk.

we're still using that? I thought that was an OOOOOOOLD term. Still you're right.

and Eeyore .. no.. there doesn't have to be a huge age difference. If all you like are guys under 25 or so then yeah. But hey... if it means that much to you to avoid being called something then scream about the technical definition all you want.

Wellllll, that's not technically true. Old-enough-to-do-whatever + 20 years isn't 40, by my math.

Exactly... if all you like is "chicken," then you're a chickenhawk, unless you're chicken yourself. In that case, you're just age-appropriate.

This really isn't fair, you know.

An older woman going after younger guys is a cougar. A respectable moniker.

An older guy going after younger guys is a chickenhawk. Okay, not as nice, but not terrible.

But an older guy going after younger girls... he's a (name your insult) - dirty old man, pig, etc.

To be honest I think its ok as long as both parties are consenting. In fact in many cases I think age differences in the gay community works well because they bring two different perspectives into the relationship. One of my best friends is 21 and I am 37 yet it works good and we both enjoy our company. Now my bf is 41 but I would have no problem dating a guy in his 20's. So my point is I think some people make to much out of a age difference.

I LOVE Schlotzky's! But they went the way of the dinosaur. We had like 6 of them in the FTC in 2000 but we only have one now. BOO I say! Booo!

There's also still one on Colorado and Yale in U-Hills Plaza. I haven't been there in years though. I'm too accustomed to the *amazing* sandwiches from the deli at Marczyk.

I moved the discussion about highways into the RTD / Transit thread, which I retitled for multi-modal Transportation. It seemed a reasonable thing to do.

This seems development related. Nevertheless, this is great! If I had money, I'd buy up all of the lots in that little enclave between the river and I-25 and build, build, build. Easily, the most overlook area for development these days.

I do recall there being some big issue with the view-plane in that area that makes it difficult to develop. I don't remember when/where I heard that tho...

There's one view plane that affects the area: Hirshorn Park in Lower Highland facing Union Station. This seems to be the only view plane that actually goes down in elevation from source, rather than up. It's hard to tell the actual building heights allowable because it uses elevations from sea level rather than from the park, which is much higher than Union Station. Fortunately, this only affects a sliver of land between 16th and 17th, which is already developed. There's also another view plane at Union Station facing back the other way, but they both meet at the river.
