Yeah..I look at the image and still get a little mesmerized by the flow of traffic!
Maybe Europeans are more accustomed to this sort of traffic configuration.

I still have problems with drivers on the "mini about's" on Naussau!

This will have to wait until all intra-urban vehicles are controlled directly by Skynet.

I give it about fifteen years.

The reason those small roundabouts don't work well is because they are simply too small to be effective. The "normal sized" ones in places like Soouthdale work very well.

I always thought they should make Osborne one way through the village

Think of them as "Practice RoundAbouts", for Pegger's to get used to a smoother flow of traffic, merging thier vehicles with other citizens without coming to a complete stop, as we do every where else in the city.

I don't think you could put a roundabout in at Confusion Corner. Just as a matter of logistics.
You'd have to re-route Corydon through what are now houses and apartments. You'd have to re-route Osborne to the east and in the end people in Winnipeg (while they may get used to it) would find it even more confusing than what is now not really all that confusing of a configuration.

Between the re-routing of streets , land acquisition , and who-knows-what's lying underground , you might as well just build a grade-separation (as has been the plan for the past fifty years)

Nice bit of news for the Area..As Condos seem to be a hot topic in the Peg the last little while.

Condo boom in the Village
Multi-family developments springing up

Winnipeg's most densely populated neighbourhood -- Osborne Village -- is about to get a little more crowded.

At least two new condominium developments are in the works or underway in the area, a third is nearing completion, and two more are in the initial planning stages, real estate industry officials say.
An eight-unit condo under construction at 548 Stradbrook Ave.

While none is a big project -- they range in size from five to 25 units -- they'll add a few more residents to a neighbourhood Wikipedia says is the second-most densely populated in Western Canada.

Lots of growth in the area. Does anyone know if there are any plans for the site where the Dennistoun building was proposed?

better not be. I like the cheap rent/crazy square footage in the Dennistoun House! It would be expensive, but this place could be fixed up into a few condos.

That's quite a list. Are most of them replacing single family homes (or duplexes)? If so that's a fair bit of densification.

This kind of densification is very subtle in that no one is suddenly waking up to find a 30-storey condo tower across the street, but a steady stream of projects that replaces 5 people living in 2 houses with, say, 26 people living in 16 condos sure will add to the area's population count.

I'm impressed with the design of these projects. Over the past 5 or 6 years the standards of new condos in the area have improved significantly. Of course, not all of the new buildings are gems, but we're generally not seeing as much crap like this mid-2000s condo on Stradbrook as we used to:

Wow, that's a great list of projects! Really good to see that kind of investment going into that area.
