Another couple of months till its finished.

Then Stantex will be the beast of this list (kinda already is, but its dominance will be complete)

Nice!!! One of your best!

Do you mind feedback on another drawing you did? 707 fifth's roofline looks flat in your drawing but in real life it curves in more of a forward swoop.

Really? The crown looks good in the drawing. The rest of the tower not so much. The white interior column faces only stand out in the photo because it's base building conditions. It's not going to be unoccupied forever. J. Eduardo's was better. Both have the base wrong.

I totally agree, and after the tower is occupied, I'll re-visit my drawing and update it. As I said, this particular drawing is based on this particular photo. It shows the tower in its pristine condition, just finished construction, but still unoccupied. In the photo you can see thru the building, because nothing has yet been installed to break up the view, and my drawing mimics that.
One thing I have noticed is the huge difference in darkness. The early renders showed it to be light, but the reality is very different and not anywhere near as dark as it appears in real-life.
Also, J. Eduardo's drawing shows an incorrect number of columns, and overall it's too wide. Just like my early drawing, his was made before the tower was built, and, like the render compared to the real thing, he got it wrong...

Base of the building is like the crown

J. Eduardo's drawing maybe on the hefty side. The columns count is fine.

It's a good drawing, but just like many of mine, it suffered from the difference between renders and the real thing. My drawing of the shorter tower is still the primary, and it looks terrible, seeing it now 5 years later. I'm actually glad it was changed to a stale proposal.
Once the base of the tower is finished I'll modify my drawing to match it. The base doesn't impress me nearly as much as the crown does...

Glad someone likes the crown. It's been getting a lot of hate in the Calgary forum. I'm still not sure it's 100% complete yet either. Most dislike how jarring the transition is to the clear glass.

Crown really doesn't do it for me, almost ruins one of the best office buildings in the country for me. That's just my opinion though.

This is the kind of office tower we need to get in Toronto.

Better than the squat low rise stuff we have been getting lately.

I must say I'm really surprised by all the love that Brookfield Place is getting by everyone outside the city. I mean I don't mind it and the glass is nice but it's no Bow or Telus Sky.

I'm trying to like the crown. It makes the tower massing feel chubbier. I'm not huge on the rounder corners. A sharp edge would have looked better in my books and with a higher degree of incline

Understated can be even more difficult to pull off as you need to be even more exact on the details. Also, The Bow and Telus Sky are only two towers out of dozens of towers or 2 out of 300 high rises in Calgary. Let's not forget Telus Sky is still just a model. The erected office floors are no indication on how the residential floor will look. There's less glass, more dark aluminum, lower floor heights and, of course, the twist.

Ten York and One Bloor from Tommy Thompson

I was out at Tommy Thompson Park yesterday, here's an update and just a little way of showing how these things are getting into the skyline, first

One Bloor:

Just so I understand the dip in height between the CN Tower and the CBD is because of the freeway?

Not really, it's the railways.

Could you be more specific? The hole by the gold building is because there are lowrises beyond. A couple distant tall proposals should fill it. The second dip by the slope roofline is the highway/ rail corridor and will be filled with the first supertall.

Perhaps you are referring to the general tower heights between the core and CN. Isn't the preferred look to avoid table tops?
