^ Yeah, it's fine and appropriate for the area. But what a comedown from the initial grandiose plans.

A couple of days ago there was a backhoe digging what looked like a new foundation for the property directly south of the Westminster property as well.

Seriously disapointed with new direction of 267 Sherbrook.

I think the owner/developer really didn't have much of a grasp on construction costs when the initial renders came in.

The fact they went from 14 to 12 to 6 stories with massive design changes indicates some struggling to make the numbers ($$) work.

6 stories is OK there. U/G (or at grade?) parking is nice too.

Update on the barn at Maryland/Westminster; they've actually taken down all the white metal siding on the North side! And started installing some slightly better brown siding

Very strange. Do you think the metal siding was just a fire prevention thing until the real siding went up? Seems like a waste of money just because your siding supply was late.

IIRC the north side was never completely clad in the metal siding, only the south side.

The east and west facades do not have any siding installed yet.

Correct. But a significant portion of the north side was clad in metal at one point, and it's all off now. Could be related to below quote:

Well colour me impressed if the City is actually on top of holding a developer to task DURING construction, and not afterwards.

I imagine there was probably a lot of phone calls to 311. Good for the city.

Would love to know what materials/looks are approved by the city. Is there a guidelines or do they just approve on a case-by-case basis?

Thx for this update, just thinking about the area driving down Sherbrook and Maryland today. It's undergoing some positive changes, Both providentially and as an actual destination to to drop in for a coffee or hang out.

Nice to see some of the activity on Sherbrook spilling over onto Maryland... as the article points out, that's 3 projects on the go at once in this one-block stretch between Westminster and Wolseley.

Hopefully it won't come with a massive concrete parking lot right next to it.

Parking hidden by the building...what a unique concept!

Must be a 'Made in Manitoba' solution.
