Presumably these will be integrated into the footprint of the building and not extend onto the sidewalk?
Wrong.

"Liberty and Comcast are negotiating a contract with Philadelphia officials to allow the commercial operations on the publicly owned sidewalks, he said. The deal would include payments to the city."

Re: CTC Newstand Kiosks (2 of them)

Excerpt from article:
The kiosks, each with a footprint of 16-feet-by-7.6-feet, were designed by London-based architects Foster & Partners, which also designed Comcast’s technology tower, and are being built for $1.6 million.

So, $800k for each kiosks. Damn-so that calculates out to $6,611 per square foot. Highway robbery, anyone? Basically, more $$ than any square footage of residential/commercial space in the city. Wow!

Norman Foster doesn't work cheap.

I wonder if the food & beverage vendors will be permitted to set up shop on those (expensive) sidewalks?

I've thought that sooner or later some Philly real estate might reach NYC sq. ft. prices that the 57th St. high rises are claiming. I just didn't think it would be a ground floor studio apartment, with no bath room, that would be the first to crack the $5K a foot barrier.

I automatically and unconditionally second that opinion! The USX Tower, while not the tallest, is a better looking tower than the CITC, and the old proposal, the American Commerce Center, was a much better looking proposal not just because it was taller, but the city of Philadelphia and the state of PA could've either retained or attracted a major company to the city (i. e. GE, Verizon, Sunoco, Black Rock, GSK, TD Bank). And there's talk of a third Comcast Center, which is superfluous IMHO, as I would've loved to have seen a diverse economy rather than one corporation dominating a city like Comcast is doing to Philadelphia!

Nice work on the artist rendering with buildings!

Now are these planned projects that haven't been approved or just wishful thinking?

These are proposed buildings in 2 major side by side developments that will get built as demand warrants.

That photo might show the protrusion I was referencing a while back. Look at the lantern right above where the green panels end. Looks like extra framing in that area.

There is right now but that protrusion will be continued down the spine because it will house the elevators for the Four Seasons.

I was unsure what you were previously talking about but see it now. I think that protrusion will be built out all the way to the street now that the crane is gone? It appears to protrude the entire way in the renderings

According to one of the video's on Comcast's website, the elevators are on the corners of the building. No?
