Beautiful sets, Shappy !
Your subjects are particularly well chosen.

Here's a close up of Québec that I thought was interesting.

Not sure where else to post this, but a few weeks ago I spent a night in Cranbrook, BC and stayed at the St. Eugene Resort on the native reserve.

This building was once a residential school but now it is a hotel and casino.

Beautiful building... you don't see many like that in Western Canada, at least not outside the larger cities.

It's beautiful and creepy at the same time.

I'm surprised they kept the crucifixes on the building considering both it's shameful past and it's new use.

It really surprised me seeing such a grand building in the middle of the country side.

Yeah, it is an interesting juxtaposition.

Personally I think it represents the best way to move forward with something that represents an injustice from one's past: you take it, own it, evolve it, and now use it to your advantage.

There are actually quite a few nice structures throughout the southern interior east of the Okanagan, most of them in town cores of course. i will be posting more pics of them later.

So coming back from the Rockies I stopped in Revelstoke, BC for a quick lunch and walk around downtown.

It was a really hot afternoon, around 35 degrees at the time.

Revelstoke has a pretty cute downtown core and the town is pretty active for its size thanks to mountain biking / hiking / camping activities in the summer and skiing in the winter.
