You mean when this building was a twinkle in the eye and a hole in the ground? It'll be filler once taller towers come in. For now it's head and shoulders above anything else being built in Chicago right now.

Yeah, it's a nice tower, but it's not nicer than I'd say at least 5 other towers going up. I'd put 110N wacker, WPE, Vista, OGP, Paragon above it no doubt.

It will hopefully have stiff competition for that title.

(BTW I converted my Chicago model into a Platform that supports VR. That's what these screens are taken from. I'll be posting progress in the link in my signature.)

Um so you are saying Vista is monumental classical architecture clad in solid stone? Because that's mostly what Speer was designing.

When I first read that I thought you were talking about your own building you were spamming for not Vista. Vista will eventually be clad in glass some day.

I find that a queer comparison to compare Vista to Flak towers of the Nazi 3rd Reich of the 1940's.

I mean you have already been exposed as a shrill for your own building. I think you can stop slamming Vista at any time already. Gees.

I personally appreciate Flak towers in their historical awesome construction in their age and also saving the lives of innocent non pro Nazi citizens that in lived and around them, and sought refuge in them at the time of constant bombardment from the allied forces, day and night.

They are so massive they are almost impossible to take down.

They are part of the world history as much as WWII is.

You should read up on them before you compare Vista to real Flak towers.

It is said sometimes "ignorance is bliss" but not in this accord or issue.

I don't even think you know what a flak tower was or is when you made that " Vista still looks like something from Hitler's Germany. Just needs AA cannons." post.

I will give you the chance to recant your statement. The mods might not be so generous as me.

Yep, one tower in Hamburg(or maybe it was Berlin) had a demotion attempted on it I think and it didn't work... twice. Now it's just kind of there. Those things are so ridiculously powerful and large.

The G-Tower (was on the site of where the Berlin Zoo is today). Yeah took like 40 tons of dynamite on the 3rd try

I love me some fascist architecture. More of an Italian Rationalism more than Nazi bunker kind of guy though.

I absolutely agree. That there are 30s elements in the design similar to Speer's best work is what makes this building's design work so well. The window placement and framing esp.

Yep, in fact, it's barely noticeable in the skyline. Hardly anything that will stand out.
