Haven't seen any so far.

Colour in these pics is weird. Looks like a desert more than a snowy day.

Red is the hardest color to render for both the screen and in print.

All the colours are off, not just the red. Probably taken with a cell phone or something.

...from behind a slightly tinted window (you can see the reflection of ceiling lights--or some reflective surface--in the top-half of the first photo) and/or possibly altered a bit using an Instagram filter.

You are right. You can also see the reflection of the nose of another train in the centre of the top picture.

Good Day.

just a side-bar to our construction.....
Alstom, Metrolinx, and Brampton, have announced the assembly plant for constructing virtually the exact same LRVs for the Hurontario and Finch lines
- 61 LRVs between 2019 and 2022, at 4 per month (their numbers). I think maybe they might know whereof they speak.

Week of April 9, 2018

This week at the eastern section of the Confederation Line, crews are completing the concrete topping slab at Tremblay Station’s entrance area while in the west, at Bayview Station, crews are working on concrete formwork and rebar for the west plaza stairs. The central stations progress as well with concrete works occurring at all four stations.

Construction Update

Skylight framing at Tunney’s Pasture Station

West Stations

Tunney’s Pasture Station
Crews continue to work on the precast concrete steps installation and the installation of composite metal panels (CMP) on the south roof. The windscreen glass is arriving and the skylight frames have completed installation.

Bayview Station
Current activities focus on CMP installation at the south roof. Crews are also doing the concrete formwork and rebar for the west plaza stairs. Electrical rough-ins at the concourse and platform are continuing, as are finishes in the lower ancillary building

Pimisi Station
This week, crews are putting in edge plates on the westbound platform. Porcelain panels are going in at the stairways, and at the entrance canopy, there is work taking place to complete the roof. Crews are also making progress on the lower-concourse service rooms.

Tiling is ongoing at Lyon Station

Central Stations

Lyon Station
Construction is ongoing and includes artwork painting; ductwork and permanent lighting installations; tiling throughout the station; and intumescent painting. In addition, wiring and device installation takes place for the communications systems and crews continue to work on the elevators.

Parliament Station
Crews are busy installing elevator, electrical, mechanical and ductwork rough-ins throughout the station. The communications team is setting up the station’s communication room, and escalator installation progresses.

Hydrovacing will occur intermittently during day time hours over the coming weeks to clean surface areas and underground lines in the tunnel.

Parliament Station west entrance
Intumescent painting and additional concrete works occur while escalator installation and assembly progresses. Wall waterproofing and raft slab rebar and concrete pours take place at the west TVS.

Parliament Station east TVS
In preparation for next week’s second concrete pour, crews are busy installing rebar and formwork.

Stairs connection to the S-MUP progresses at uOttawa Station

Rideau Station
Visible progress is made at the station with stair construction and works related to the upcoming escalator installations. Rebar, formwork and concrete pours take place for the platform slabs and crews work to finish the floor topping in the communications room.

Rideau Station west entrance
Construction is ongoing and includes the installation of escalators and a separation wall in between. The West TVS progresses with rebar, formwork and the first of five concrete pours to build the shaft walls.

Rideau Station east entrance
This week, the adit arch is poured, followed by formwork stripping. Work on the head house envelope begins, while electrical and mechanical works are ongoing throughout the entire station.

East Portal
Cleanup is underway. Additional waterproofing will be taking place soon, in preparation for the backfill of excavated areas.

uOttawa Station
The entrance stairs connecting to the S-MUP (multi-use pathway) continues to show progress, with formwork and rebar continuing. Crews are currently working on composite metal and porcelain panel installation. The snow-melt mesh and heat tracing are being installed.

Construction advances at St. Laurent Station

East Stations

Lees Station
Efforts will focus on the final platform topping pour, CMP installations, and the east exit stair formwork. Elevators are being finished in preparation for testing. Crews are also completing mechanical and electrical finishes in advance of wood ceiling work.

Hurdman Station

Porcelain panels are continuing. The CMP work for the south side is almost completed.. The wiring for the PA system and the cameras continues to be installed.

Tremblay Station
Saw cutting and sandblasting of the concrete topping slab at the entrance area continue, as do the electrical rough-ins for the entrance lantern. Crews are also finishing the installation of the elevator glazing. Cameras and speakers are also going up throughout the station.

Signband installation at Cyrville Station

St-Laurent Station
Digital signband installation is underway. Porcelain panels are ongoing. The work on the mullions for the glass walls is mostly complete. The electrical work at the BRT level is substantially completed. The entrance lantern structure has been completed.

Cyrville Station
Crews have completed the outstanding curbs on the upper concourse. Work on the digital signband continues. Landscaping work is scheduled to resume in the coming weeks, including pouring the concrete for the bike racks.

Blair Station
Handrails are being completed throughout the station, while wood ceiling installation continues. There is ongoing work on the edge-of-platform light band and digital signband. The elevator stainless steel cladding is completed.

OCS installations west of Bayview Station

Guideway and Trackwork

Crews will work on electrification of the western alignment and the tunnel. Currently in the tunnel, the east bound track slab has been completed in the tunnel and the west bound track slab continues to progress.

Someone please quell my fears ... in all the pictures of Cyrville, there are posts with large white pipes strapped to them. Will that get nicely enclosed, or left to be hideous?

Held there with duct tape. Gotta be temporary... Though that's what I thought about the tactile strips around the Stanley Cup monument...

It's weird because there is a structure... putting glass there would keep customers dry even as they board the trains.

I assume it is a wrapped heat traced drain for the "roof". The only time I have ever seen it not covered is in a mechanical room or in a ceiling space. I am sure it will get an architectural cover.

Cheers,
JG

It could be that they haven't installed it yet. It is hard to tell for sure in the rendering if there is glass or not, but there are no reflections to prove the presence of glass. Would be strange to have all the metal and no roof.

The rendering makes it very clear there is glass on the middle, but there is no indication of glass on the sides.

I don't think they'll install glass panes in those. This is more of an architectural "feature" that will be consistent throughout all stations, including the 4 underground. I feel it would not have been all that more expensive to add glass to the 8 above ground stations.

And putting something other than glass there would keep customers dry AND protected from the brutal summer sun, but our transit planners do not assign any design value to shade.

That structure is for holding the strip lighting that illuminates the edge of the platform. I wonder if there are also sensors that detect people when they're over the safe line, a bit like this: https://youtu.be/8qC-cupjexA
