"Brookfield Property Partners today announced its plans to commence development of the third and final office tower of Bay Adelaide Centre in downtown Toronto. Scotiabank has signed a commitment to lease 420,000 square feet - approximately 51% of the building - for 15 years as the anchor tenant of Bay Adelaide Centre North

The building will have direct access to subways and the amenities of the PATH underground pedestrian system. Consistent with Bay Adelaide Centre West and East and several of Brookfield's new office developments, Bay Adelaide Centre North will be designed to achieve LEED Platinum Core & Shell environmental certification.

Brookfield anticipates substantial completion of the building in early 2022, with Scotiabank's lease commencement to follow later that year. Brookfield projects total development costs of approximately C$500 million."

Great shot. I dont think I'll ever get over how goofy the 401 Bay Street reclad looks, especially the treatment of the crown.

I agree. It's just bizarre....and incredibly ugly. And they're still not done....three years later.

Thanks, GeneralLee. I had completely forgotten this project even existed, and now it's almost done.

No problem! Yea, I can't blame you. I gotta say, even though it is such a bore for design and such, it helps fill in this area a bit more, its not a bad height even if its a little short.

Bay-Adelaide was excruciatingly boring, Bay-Adelaide II doubled the pain, and Bay-Adelaide III stamped out whatever hope was left. That said, something peculiar has occurred. We now have a public square hemmed in almost symmetrically on 3 sides by a monumental wall of identical glass. The extreme scale of homogeneity is astounding and interesting. They could rename that square 'The Void'.

It's like a blank gallery wall; negative space. What ever you put in the square is going to pop.
