More like 80's.

Yeah, late 80's or 90's. When I see it I think Atlanta's One Atlantic Center (1987).

I think it most looks like a taller version of Odell Center (aka 525 North Tryon) that was built in 1999 and I think is not a terrible looking building:

Charlotte would be ecstatic if if this skyscraper had the grace and beauty of One Atlantic Center. One Atlantic Center may have been built in the 80s, but it looks like it could have been built in the 20s or 30s. Probably the best 80s skyscraper in the country.

Ummm no, it's a pretty obvious example of 80's postmodern architecture. Implementing gothic design elements in a not-so-traditional way was postmodern's thing.

Charlotte's three tallest are already pretty great skyscrapers for today's standards.

Charlotte's Bank of America Corporate Center doesn't take a backseat to anything Atlanta or anywhere else. And some consider it the finest skyscraper built in the US in the last quarter-century.

New rendering of the Charlotte Observer site redevelopment. It's on floor 4 or so now I think of construction.

I know most people are members of the hate camp concerning this project, but I think it looks timeless and will age much better than the glass boxes most cities are building.

This rendering does look a lot better and a lot less beige that some of the other renderings. I hope it looks more like this one.

Crescent Stonewall Station

Phase 1 nearing completion:

This is what Legacy Union (former Charlotte Observer site) will look like from inside BofA Stadium because of course they have to include a rendering of that:

I really like the Legacy Union building; reminds me a bit of the Mellon Bank building in Philly. It is timeless and has classic lines.

Does anyone have a rendering of the skyline with it?

Not that I've found with this current design. I did find there is a construction webcam up now showing the view from Bank of America Stadium: https://api.ibeamsystems.com/api/cam...mestamped=true

In this webcam, there appears to be some excavation in the foreground, across the street from this tower and closer to the stadium. Anyone know what that is?

That will be part of the development too, including a parking deck and retail and possibly a hotel or mixed use in phase two of development:

The old Charlotte Observer building, and the docks and parking deck which are now all gone:

Ally bank will anchor new Crescent Stonewall development. Also known as Tryon Place. Will include a hotel building and retail.

378 feet, 26-floor building, groundbreaking early 2018. 300-room hotel building will be part of the plan as well (seen on the left).

This rendering shows the place of Legacy Union (the pyramid-topped building on the right) and the Ally bank-anchored Tryon Place building (the box skyscraper immediately right of Legacy union)

Here's a webcam capture of Legacy Union progress as of last night:
